The Tigers notified Wilson that he will be released Friday when MLB lifts its freeze on transactions, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even with MLB allowing teams to head into the resumed season with a 30-man roster and 30-man taxi squad, the Tigers apparently didn't view Wilson -- who attended spring training as a non-roster invitee -- as part of their plans for 2020. Since Wilson has 303 games of big-league experience under his belt, it wouldn't be surprising if he surfaced with another organization in short order, but don't expect him to handle a high-leverage role in any team's bullpen this season.

Wilson is competing for one of the final spots in the Tigers' bullpen when the regular season is able to begin, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson signed a minor-league deal in January, and after a rough 2019 campaign, it wouldn't have been too surprising to see him start the year at Triple-A Toledo. However, teams will likely get to use expanded rosters when the season is able to begin, so the Tigers could choose to keep the 33-year-old around. Wilson posted a 3.36 ERA and 1.05 WHIP when he last pitched for Detroit in 2018, so at least he's had some success within the organization.

Wilson signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Saturday as a non-roster invitee.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson struggled in the majors last season with a 9.53 ERA and 2.12 WHIP over 11.1 innings with the Brewers, but he was more polished at the Triple-A level, recording a 2.86 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. While the right-hander could make an appearance in the majors at some point next season, he'd likely be limited to low-leverage roles out of the bullpen.

Wilson agreed to a contract with the Cubs on Monday, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson will stick in the NL Central, joining Chicago after being let go by the Brewers over the weekend. The veteran right-hander struggled during his time in Milwaukee, allowing 12 runs in 11.1 innings while recording a 15.8 percent walk rate, though he compiled a 3.36 ERA in 61.2 innings for Detroit last season. The terms of the contract are not yet known.

Wilson was released by the Brewers on Saturday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson made 13 appearances for the Brewers this season, allowing 12 runs in 11.1 innings while recording a 15.8 percent walk rate. The 32-year-old did post a 3.36 ERA in 61.2 innings for the Tigers last season, so it's possible he finds a big-league job by the end of the season.

Wilson was outrighted to Triple-A San Antonio on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson passed through waivers unclaimed after recording a 9.53 ERA in 11.1 innings for the Brewers. He's now one step further from returning to the majors, as he's no longer on the 40-man roster.

Wilson was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Wilson allowed four runs over his past two appearances (1.1 innings), prompting the Brewers to drop him from their 40-man roster in favor of righty Jay Jackson, whose contract was selected from Triple-A San Antonio. Through 13 appearances with Milwaukee, Wilson compiled a 9.53 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and13:9 K:BB across 11.1 innings. He'll take a spin through waivers to determine his next landing spot.
