Reyes walked two in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his eighth save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander threw only eight of his 20 pitches for strikes in a nervous outing, but he was able to escape the jam he created. Reyes has yet to give up a run or blow a save through 14 appearances this season, but his 15:12 K:BB in 14.1 innings makes his position as closer perhaps a little more tenuous than his surface stats would indicate.

Reyes struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save against the Pirates on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Reyes only needed 12 pitches to get through Sunday's outing, and he earned his seventh save of the year by retiring all three of the batters he faced. The right-hander hasn't allowed a baserunner in his last three innings, and he hasn't yet given up a run in 13.1 innings across 13 appearances this season.

Reyes (1-0) was credited with the victory in an extra-inning win over the Phillies on Thursday, firing two perfect innings during which he recorded three strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was refreshingly sharp, getting his six outs on 25 pitches, 18 of which found the strike zone. Reyes has made it virtually impossible for manager Mike Shildt to remove him from high-leverage duties -- and the closer's role specifically -- by firing 12.1 scoreless frames and going 6-for-6 in save opportunities across his first 12 appearances. Reyes has also now stayed away from issuing free passes entirely in back-to-back outings for the first time all season, an encouraging development considering his still-elevated 19.2 percent walk rate.

Reyes picked up his sixth save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning against the Phillies while allowing a single and striking out two in the effort.
EDGE Analysis
Reyes had a strong outing, as he struck out two batters and didn't surrender a walk for the first time in his last four appearances. The 26-year-old is third in MLB with six saves and miraculously hasn't allowed a run despite having an 11:10 K:BB and 1.55 WHIP over 10.1 innings.

Reyes walked two batters and allowed a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday, striking out one and earning a save over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Reyes worked himself into a bases-loaded jam but managed to escape without any damage. He threw just 11 of his 25 pitches for strikes and it was his second straight outing with control issues during a save opportunity. Still, he's a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances with a 0.00 ERA through 9.1 innings.

Reyes earned the save against Cincinnati on Friday, striking out two and walking two over two-thirds of an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Reyes was far from sharp in the outing, throwing only 10 of 23 pitches for strikes and walking a pair. He allowed a pair of inherited runners to score -- one on a bases-loaded walk and the other on a wild pitch. However, the right-hander did enough to extend his season-opening scoreless streak to 8.1 innings while picking up his fourth save. Reyes has treaded in dangerous waters with an 8:8 K:BB, but he has all four of the Cardinals' saves this season and looks to be locked into the closer role for the time being.

Reyes, who logged a scoreless eighth inning against the Nationals in his most recent appearance Wednesday, hasn't seen a save opportunity since April 8.
EDGE Analysis
The hard-throwing right-hander is 3-for-3 in save opportunities and still sports an unblemished ERA through eight appearances, so he's done everything within his power to reward fantasy managers. However, the Cardinals' only three victories since Reyes' last save chance have come by 11, five and seven runs, cutting off all paths for Reyes to add to his tally.

Reyes fired a scoreless ninth inning in a loss to the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing no hits and a walk with a strikeout and a wild pitch.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the somewhat busy final line, Reyes still threw only 16 pitches while appearing in his first game action since last Thursday. The hard-throwing right-hander carries an unblemished ERA through five appearances, three which have culminated in saves.

Reyes fired a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while striking out one to earn his third save of the season Thursday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Reyes was originally designated to be a long reliever with future plans to end up in the rotation. However, he currently finds himself as the Cardinals primary closer and is handling the role very well to start the season. Reyes has immense talent, but has dealt with many injuries throughout his career. The 26-year-old has the potential to be one of the best closers this season if the Cardinals decide to keep him in that role.

Reyes walked one and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings Tuesday to secure his second save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has now converted both his save chances to begin the season and has yet to give up a run in 2021, but his 2:2 K:BB through 3.1 innings isn't exactly dominant. With Reyes having pitched on back-to-back days, look for Jordan Hicks or another reliever to get the call Wednesday if the Cards have a ninth-inning lead to protect.
