Hill (hand) is not in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, Nick Piecoro of azcentral sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill is dealing with both a hand and hamstring injury, and it appears unlikely that he'll play Tuesday or Wednesday. Manager Chip Hale said he'd prefer to keep Hill out of action in the high altitude of Colorado. Phil Gosselin is in the lineup for Game 1 in Hill's place.

Hill was unavailable for a second straight game Monday against the Rockies due to a hand injury, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury is seemingly minor, with manager Chip Hale offering that Hill may be able to play in one game of Tuesday's doubleheader. In any event, with Hill batting only .231 and not viewed as a long-term piece by the Diamondbacks, it seems likely that Chris Owings will continue to receive the bulk of the starts at second base down the stretch as the team looks to give more opportunities to their younger players.

Hill went 1-for-3 with his fourth home run, a two-run shot, Wednesday in a loss to the Dodgers. Hill has had a pretty rough season at the plate, posting just a .224/.284/.333 line to this point, but continues to get starts at second and third base a few times per week. With Chris Owings unable to grab the second base job for himself, Hill should keep getting at-bats as a part-time player despite his struggles.

Hill is not in the lineup Sunday against the Giants. Hill has made his way into the lineup for three straight games, but will take a seat Sunday with Chris Owings at second base and Jake Lamb at third. Look for Hill to continue to see sporadic playing time in a crowded infield.

Hill went 0-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's win over the Giants. Starting against a right-handed pitcher for the first time since May 30, Hill's role has fallen into that of a small-side platoon player. With Jake Lamb's return from the disabled list, there are fewer plate appearances to go around in the Arizona infield. In 50 games this season, Hill is hitting .233/.293/.336 with three homers and 15 RBI over 137 at-bats.

Hill will start at third base Wednesday for the second straight day. Hill and Yasmany Tomas have split the third base duties over the last eight games, and Wednesday's contest will be the third out of four in which Hill has started. Hill is sizzling this month (going 13-for-28 (.464) with three home runs and eight RBI through nine games.

Hill doesn't do one thing particularly well, but he's having a good all-around season, posting a slash line of .282/.449/.782.

Hill continued his recent success on Sunday, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run versus the Padres. After a putrid start to the season Hill has really turned it around of late and has gone 10-for-21 with three home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base over his past seven games. Hill is currently a part-time player but could earn even more playing time at second base if middle infielders Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings continue to underachieve.

Hill went 0-for-1, but had three walks and a run scored, Friday in a win over San Diego. Hill continues to turn around his season at the plate, posting a .407/.467/.667 line over his last 27 at-bats. He will still be a part-time player until either Nick Ahmed or Chris Owings is demoted, but he is showing that he can have some value in deeper leagues.
