Hicks isn't in Baltimore's lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks will likely see plenty of time in center field as the Orioles prepare to move forward without Cedric Mullins (groin). However, his O's debut will have to wait, as Austin Hays gets the starting nod in center field and Terrin Vavra starts in left Tuesday.

Hicks signed a one-year contract with the Orioles on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Just a few days after being released by the Yankees, Hicks has latched on with another American League East outfit. He has batted only .188/.263/.261 this season, but on a prorated veteran minimum contract, it's a no-risk move for Baltimore. Hicks could play a lot in center field while Cedric Mullins (groin) is sidelined.

Hicks is drawing serious free agent interest from the Orioles, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murray notes that Baltimore makes for a logical fit with Cedric Mullins suffering a right abductor (groin) strain in Monday's loss to the Guardians. Hicks was officially released by the Yankees last Friday, six days after being removed from the 40-man roster. The 33-year-old outfielder had slashed just .188/.263/.261 through 28 games (76 plate appearances) this season for New York and also struggled mightily at the plate in 2022. He can be signed for the MLB minimum.

Hicks was released by the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks unsurprisingly passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment by the Yankees last weekend. The 33-year-old outfielder is still owed around $27.6 million on a contract that runs through 2025, but New York will be on the hook for the large majority of that guaranteed cash. Another team can take a chance on him at the MLB minimum.

Hicks was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks will now either report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, get claimed by another team or be released outright. It seems unlikely that he'll want to report to the minors, though anything is possible. The outfielder has produced a disappointing .188 batting average with one homer, five RBI and nine runs scored over 69 at-bats in 28 games with New York this season. Greg Allen was signed to a major-league contract Saturday and will replace Hicks on the 26-man roster.

Hicks went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 4-2 win over Toronto on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks gave New York a little breathing room with a run-scoring single in the seventh inning, and he finished with his first multi-hit performance this month. It's been a brutal start to the campaign for the veteran outfielder, who is still slashing a meager .194/.270/.269 despite Thursday's big performance. Though his opportunities remain infrequent, Hicks has at least begun to perk up a bit of late, slashing .400/.500/.733 with a homer, two doubles and four RBI over his past six games.

Hicks (hip) will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
After exiting Tuesday's 10-5 win over the Athletics with left hip tightness, Hicks didn't appear in any of the Yankees' next five games to close out the week. It's unclear if the injury kept Hicks unavailable or if he was simply excluded from the lineup for performance-related reasons, but whatever the case, his inclusion in the starting nine Monday indicates he's healthy again. Hicks still looks to be no better than fifth or sixth in the pecking order for playing time in the outfield, with all of Aaron Judge, Harrison Bader, Jake Bauers and possibly both of Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Oswaldo Cabrera ahead of him.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Hicks had imaging on his hip Thursday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks is out of the lineup for a second straight game Thursday versus the Rays after exiting Tuesday night's tilt against the Athletics due to left hip tightness. Boone noted that the veteran outfielder will go through his normal pregame workout Thursday in the Bronx, which is an encouraging sign as the Yankees await the imaging results.

Hicks (hip) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks had picked up starts in left field in each of the last four games while going 2-for-11 with a home run, a double, two walks, three runs and three RBI, but he was removed from Tuesday's 10-5 win after experiencing left hip tightness. The Yankees appear to be viewing Hicks as day-to-day for the time being, but he still won't be guaranteed to recapture a regular role once he's healthy again.

Hicks left Tuesday's game against the Athletics with left hip tightness and will be reevaluated again before Wednesday's game.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks has already been examined by the team physician. He should be considered day-to-day at this stage, but there should be more information on the outfielder before Wednesday's finale against the Athletics.
