Hello,

The Bengals DEF is currently credited as having given up 7-13 points, but some of those points were due to the Texans defense scoring when the Bengals DEF was not on the field. They only gave up two field goals which would be 6 points.

Is this an error or is this how team defenses are normally scored, accounting for all points? Normally I'd think the latter because they are called "TM" on this site and not "defense" but in the scoring settings the relevant category is referred to as "Defense" so not sure.

Thanks in advance!

You have to choose whether to limit your defense to points scored by offense/special teams or points scored period. It's a commish setting, and if your scoring rules don't specifically say "offense + special teams points", the defense is charged for ALL points scored by the opposing team, regardless of whether or not they were on the field.

That's correct @renak1.

@zounder - your league uses just Points Allowed under scoring: fleaflicker.com

Here are the options we give to commissioners that they can incorporate under League-Settings-Edit Scoring Rules-Custom and change this under Defense and the drop-down menu:

Points Allowed=All points (what the opposing team's final score says) - this is what you guys use now

Offensive Points Allowed=FG, pass TD, rush TD only

Special Teams Points Allowed=Punt/kick return TDs and all conversions (both XPs and 2-point conversions)

Offensive Plus Special Teams Points Allowed=The sum of offensive and special teams points (i.e., everything except for safeties, INT returns, fumble returns, and blocked kick returns). Most leagues will want to use this rule
