I made a trade offer last week that was just now accepted and it’s a trade I would rather not execute. Based on the timing that the trade will go through (Friday morning) I would not have the player im trading for as he plays on Thursday. It also puts me in a position with no QB to start as I’m trading away my #2 QB with my #1 QB on bye.
Can I now cancel the trade that I offered after it was accepted?
If someone else or you drops a player involved in the trade, it will be cancelled. This is especially helpful if the player who is being dropped is going to be dropped to make room for the trade.
For example, if the trade is uneven in numbers and one team has a player in the “Dropped to make room for trade” and there is someone the player really wants to add, they might drop the player who is going to be dropped in the trade. Also, if one player goes on the injured reserve that might happen
Ah. Makes sense now. Not the case in this one as it was a one for one and neither got injured. Timing of the trade on Friday made both players ineligible to play on one team and allowed the other team to play both.
Yes; if the commissioner is not involved in the trade then he or she can cancel the trade. It can also be canceled by being vetoed by half of the league not involved in the trade. (For example, if there are 12 teams in the league, 5 owners would have to veto the trade.) You personally, however, cannot do anything about it since it has already been accepted unless it gets vetoed. You could try to rally your league to get enough vetoes or you could get the commissioner to cancel it. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving.
Yeah. I knew that, but the problem is commissioners don’t have the cancel power for their own trades. It’s also weird that the league would process a trade after the start of the week’s games if a player involved plays on Thursday.
I solved it by adding another player that put me at the max at that position being added. The trade is now officiallly stalled.

Why would either team drop one of the players involved in the trade? That makes no sense at all.
