Last year our league tried the FleaFlicker Draft for the first time. We all get together for a drafting party but wanted use your Drafting engine so we didn't have to enter it manually later on.
Two things.
First off we do the draft the on Opening night so we can all watch the game while we are drafting. It's pretty funny to see an owner to pick up a receiver or kicker just because they scored while they where on the clock!
Anyway Your site will allow us to schedule on Sept 5th where CBS and Yahoo will not. Bravo!!! Great job!!
But Here is the issue. We pause the draft a lot and take a long break after the 8th round as we are no hurry.
The problem encountered last year was that it seemed that there was some overall draft time limit, that once exceeded your draft engine started to auto pick everyone's next selection. This caused us to pause even more while we corrected the picks.
Is there a way to turn-off the autopick feature so we don't run into this issue?
Unfortunately it can't be turned off and you are limited to the 60 minute of cumulative pause time.
Your absolute best bet is to use the slow draft/e-mail draft. For this, all you will do is go to the Players tab, hit Commish Draft, and draft for each player. If for any reason you make the wrong pick, have that owner log in and cut the player (you can cut the last player in a slow draft). Using the live draft applet would not really work because the computer would only think you are signed on and you'd either have to pause the draft applet very quickly and make the pick or keep undoing picks.
Definitely suggest using that method of drafting. It's slower, more fun, and you can see the whole draft board this way.

Hal Thanks for quick response I will present that to the league. The main concern for this would be could the other teams see what players are "coming off the board" as each manual pick is completed.
yes, the draft board can be opened and projected on a big screen that shows the entire board. also, players will be removed from the player pool as they're chosen. i can email you screenshots if you wish, your league would love the feature.
I am just curious why this feature exists. We had the same problem. We had seven people drafting at my home, and three people online. Each of them gets a certain amount of time to draft. By the 11th or 12th round we had used up the 60 minutes of pause time. Is there anyway to extend that 60 minutes to 120 or 90. Thanks.
This is probably a deal breaker for our league. Looks like we will go to CBS sports where you can just turn off the auto pick and have no set time between picks. We are all friends and been doing this for 20+ years so know one takes a really long time anyway. If they do we let them know to hurry it up.
For us its worth the extra $14 an owner not to have the website dictate how we hold our draft. Plus CBS has the extra bonus of being able to track our free agent and drafting fees!
We are sorry to hear that and understand if you'd like to leave. We hope you don't leave and here's why:
1) I'm still going to see if there's a way to turn it off (autopick) or extend the time; though I'm not sure or hopeful it can be done as it hadn't in the past.
2) The E-mail draft option (Slow draft) perfectly gives your league everything you're asking for. I use it for most of my live draft parties. When we need a break or food, no sweat...It does everything you want, everyone can be signed on to their own devices or use one computer if they wish under the Commish name with no rushing to pick - you can open up a draft board and it shows who is available and who comes off when drafted. We project this separate window on a big screen.
We understand if you want to leave, but are confident the slow draft would be great for you and give you guys an awesome draft experience here. If you do leave, we'll likely have these requested features in place down the line and will update you when they are here.
Hope you decide to stay with us. We think the slow draft fits you guys nicely with the breaks and is very unique/cool to use. But we totally understand if we don't fit the bill for whatever reason and ultimately want you guys to be happy.

Currently there's no way to extend it (it's a limitation of the server). Sorry, but I can inquire to see if we can.
