We want to have our league's opening FA period each offseason on May 13th. I now understand that rookies will be added to the player pool by then. As a commissioner, can I lock rookies from being signed in our FA period?
Conversely, can I make it so only rookies will be available to draft in our rookie draft, on June 13th?
Right now we don't have separate player pools that would work that way. So you wouldn't be able to forbid owners from picking them up with free agency open or just have rookies open.
Yes, you can go to League>Settings>Edit Waiver Wire Rules>Select blind bidding and a day for them to run. Go to League>Settings>Edit Transaction Rules and go to Lock Free Agents During Preseason and select Yes and save. This will allow waivers to run weekly on the day of your choosing and allow owners to bid for their desired player.
Thanks, but that would set it to a blind bidding waiver system, yes? My league wants to have open bidding on free agents during the offseason. Is that possible?
Waivers are only by priority or by a blind-bid budget, there are no "auctions" - open bidding would allow them to have the week to place bids on players. It seems like that would suffice here. You can reset the budget/order after the "offseason." Thanks.
