Ok, now that we can do the new league year, I need help with some settings.
Ultimately, I want the ability for owners to add/drop players AND AT THE SAME TIME be able to trade 2015 draft picks from now until our rookie draft in August.
It seems to me that I cannot do both at the same time:
- if I go to "Edit Rosters" and select "These are the complete rosters" or "These are keepers only" then owners can add players, but 2015 draft picks do not appear with their teams
- if I go to "Edit Rosters" and select "These are the complete rosters but still draft this season," then draft picks show but owners cannot add/drop
In short, if you open up free agency for the new year you're telling the system you held a draft for 2015. It is something we hope to have added soon, but right now when you activate the new season and open up free agency, the 2015 draft picks will not show. When the system is set to draft, in turn, the free agent pool will lock.
We hope to have both be able to run together in the future, but it's a current limitation.

If you want free agency to run in your league before you hold your draft, go to League >> Edit Rosters >> These are the complete rosters and then back to the Edit Rosters >> These are the complete rosters but still draft this season when you're ready to draft. The system will not allow you to have a scheduled draft and also run free agency at the current time.
Note: By doing this the current year's draft picks will not be available for trade because you're essentially telling the system you bypassed the draft. The draft picks are still there and can be recovered by going back to League >> Edit Rosters >> These are the complete rosters but still draft this season -- if you are holding a draft this season, you'll eventually head back here anyway and lock the free agent pool to draft.
