Is it possible to have 2015 rookie picks draftable in a start-up dynasty email draft? I searched the previous topics but didn't see any information on this. Thanks in advance!

You can hold a rookie draft that way.

Just either decrease the amount of total players on the roster at Edit Roster Requirements and then increase the number after the rookie draft.

Or you can finish the draft by filling out rosters with players that you can manually remove after at Edit Rosters.

You'll want to go to Edit Rosters->"These are the complete rosters" when you are done and then Edit Rosters->"These are the complete rosters but still draft..." whenever you want to hold another draft.

I'm confused with your explanation.

Is there a way to have the picks already in the drafting pool upon initial start-up draft? For example, in the second round of our email draft, is it possible to draft pick 1.01, and that pick is then a roster placeholder for the rookie to fill up once the rookie draft occurs?

Or would I, as the commissioner, have to manually keep track of when an owner is choosing to forgo drafting a player and drafting a pick instead? Is it possible to skip picking in this email draft, or does an owner HAVE to pick a player who is then later removed and swapped with the Rookie pick?

If you can be a bit more clear on exactly what you're trying to do, I can do my best to better help.

You can edit the picks manually when you activate the league at Edit Draft Order and then select the option to manually edit round by round and have teams select their keepers in advance.

It's not possible to skip picking in an e-mail draft unless you manually delete the user's pick like noted above or select a player for them as a placeholder and then remove them.

I want to be able to have the rookie draft picks be draftable in our start-up email draft. The start-up draft will occur in the next few weeks, and the Rookie draft will happen after the NFL Draft (some time in May). So the current NFL players will be listed along with 2015 rookie draft slots (1.01, 1.02, etc) rather than the players themselves.

Ideally this would be able to happen without any post-draft roster manipulation. Is that possible?

Unfortunately when you open free agency (at Edit Rosters->These are the complete rosters) to allow the current NFL players to show, the 2015 picks will not be there until you go to (Edit Rosters->These are the complete rosters but still draft this season) and when you do activate the draft, the free agent pool will close.

We're going to look to improve on this soon, but right now you would have to keep track of how the traded picks would work manually in that instance if you want to bypass the draft.

Ok. I think I understand, however it wouldn't involve trading picks at this time, just the drafting of future draft picks.

What would be the recommended process while my start-up draft is going on if someone at say draft slot 2.02, wants to draft a rookie pick? Should I have them draft a player, then manually go in and "undraft" them so they're available to be drafted again? Or do I have to wait until the start-up draft is finished in order to adjust the rosters and assign the rookie picks.

Thank you for your help!

You can go ahead and draft for them under the Players section or they can go ahead and select a player. The best way to do this is to select a player that is in our database but retired (like Jerry Rice, Jerome Bettis, Terrell Owens). You can then remove them or the team can cut them.
