Will it be possible to start the 2015 season without holding the 2015 rookie draft until the summer? I'd like to have the WW be accessible as soon as possible but still allow 2015 draft picks to be traded on the site. Last year I had to keep an Excel file log and send it out with every trade involving 2014 picks (20+ between Feb and Aug) which was an inconvenience for all involved.

Any chance this will be remedied in 2015?

In doing step #1 won't that remove the 2015 draft picks from the site since the system will consider the draft complete and rosters set for the 2015 season? I believe I did this last year as the work around to holding the draft later but wanting FA to begin with the new league year. It came with the downside of me having to track draft picks on the side. This is what I would like to avoid doing again in 2015 if possible. Thank you.

Yes, the 2015 picks would be removed because you're opening the players pool by telling the system you 'drafted.'

You would have to track this year's picks manually if you did that.

Hopefully down the line we can have something in place to support both opening the player pool and the current year's picks. Thanks.

That would be awesome. Thanks for the swift replies.

Are you saying that if I activate the 2015 season, the 2015 rookie draft picks would disappear? So I should wait to activate the 2015 season until after our rookie draft?

FleaMod Admin Tue 2/10/15 11:23 AM

No, they will not disappear unless you open free agency in the player's pool -- that user is referring to something else.

You can do all of this on 2/10 by going to Edit Rosters->These are the complete rosters.

When you want to hold the 2015 draft, go to Edit Rosters>These are the complete rosters but still draft this season (ensure teams select keepers before the draft).

Until now to 2/10, all external free agents are locked but you can still trade players on rosters already and future picks until 2/10.

I'm still irregularities with the number of picks for 2015. We currently have a 40 man roster with 35 keepers. That should give us each 5 picks. I'm showing 10 for my team.

You have 30 keepers selected and a 40-man roster. We're correctly showing you with 10 picks:

Ok. Thanks. So if I did want to keep all 40 and draft 5, I can place 5 players into IR for the time being.

FleaMod Admin Fri 2/6/15 10:01 AM

Placing players on IR will not give you extra picks.

RoyPorras Sat 2/7/15 10:45 AM

No but I want to preserve the current 40 man roster but still have my draft with 5 draft picks.

FleaMod Admin Mon 2/9/15 9:46 AM

Unfortunately it won't give you any extra picks that way using the IR to make room for additional picks) for now.

RoyPorras Mon 2/9/15 11:06 PM

I'm not looking for extra picks. Put it another way, does the IR players count towards the 40 man roster. We don't want to drop players.

FleaMod Admin Tue 2/10/15 9:01 AM

They count towards the 40-man roster to let you add more players, yes -- but you won't have more picks.

RoyPorras Tue 2/10/15 11:46 AM

That's not what we experienced this past season. Players placed on IR do not count towards the 40 man roster. In fact, we could pick up players from FA when there became a roster position open.

FleaMod Admin Tue 2/10/15 11:59 AM

You misunderstood the response (it's a bit confusing, sorry) in that it will allow you to add them in the similar fashion and you can go over 40.

So players on IR will be "extra" players for you to carry.
