Beginning today, myself and a friend of mine noticed that when using the mobile site on our phones, another URL pops up from "update.appsland.com", and says something about our phones' UI needs to be updated, then when we touch the screen, it sends us to the Google Play store to download an app. It's done this repeatedly since this morning and continues to do so. Only happening on the mobile site, and doesn't happen on any other website that we browse on.

This rules out that it's a phone issue.

We've rebooted our phones, uninstalled and reinstalled our browsers, scanned for viruses (nothing wrong), cleared cache and cookies, selected "Block popups" in our mobile browser and it still continues to come up.

The fact that this is only occurring on Fleaflicker and on FF's mobile site, makes us think it may have something to do with the site itself.

Here's a screenshot of the page that randomly pops up while we're browsing the mobile site:

^ Obviously, it's something fake, but it's highly annoying that it continues to pop up.

Anyway you guys can take a look at this and see if it's possible to block this URL from popping up when people visit your mobile site?

Getting a ridiculous amount of popups for Diabetes ads on mobile devices as well...

The pop ups have stopped for me. I just dealt with it for the rest of the day, and I haven't seen one since I posted this over 2 weeks ago.

We're doing our best to collect all information regarding pop-up ads so they can all be removed. If this is happening, please contact: fleaflicker.com with the following answers if you can:

1. What name of ad is the company's name?

2. Are you on a desktop device, a tablet device or a mobile device.

If you're on a mobile device are you toggled into desktop mode (this

is very helpful for us)?

*If on a mobile device, what type of device and operating system?

3. Can possibly you take a screenshot of the ad?

4. When at the website, let us know the exact URL if you can through a

screenshot or when it goes to the site letting us know the new website

address.

5. What browser and version are you using?

I've been having the same issues, it's definitely unfriendly adware and only happens when I'm on my mobile browser (it doesn't happen at all when I'm in desktop mode on my mobile phone browser).

It sucks because I enjoy fleaflicker and was thinking of paying but not after this caused me to factory reset my phone and it's still happening (proving it's the mobile site).

Hilal --

It's been a pleasure working with you through email this week and helping you with your new league. We are so sorry to hear this happened to you. We are going to get to the bottom of it to prevent this.

Sorry you experienced this.

We're doing everything we actively can to prevent this from happening and are working with our ad networks around the clock to prevent this at once -- they are harmless, but very annoying redirects and we sympathize with you.

Please let me know the following (since you provided some info, the normal info we ask for isn't all here to save you time and you can also contact us at info@fleaflicker.com with screenshots:

1. What is the company's name you were sent to?

2. What phone and model are you using? What OS also?

3. Can possibly you take a screenshot of the ad from the App Store or where you get sent to?

4. When at the website, let us know the exact URL or address it sends you to before the App Store or if you can find it after.

5. *I see you're on mobile

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 9:32 PM

I'm on a samsung galaxy note 3 and I only see the virus popup when I'm on the stock browser but it will never pop up when I am on desktop mode.

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 9:57 PM

This just happened on the same phone on Firefox for Android in Mobile.

It still never happens while on desktop mode on the site.

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 9:59 PM

Based on what I'm seeing it's a mobile only, Android specific pop-up ad.

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 9:59 PM

It makes me not trust the website enough to give you guys my credit card information...

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 10:00 PM

I'll pay for fleaflicker whenever I stop seeing this pop-up ad.

Thanks,

Hilal

Hilal Sat 5/16/15 10:04 PM

Sorry it's Lyft

We understand your concern and are working with our ad networks to stop having any pop-up advertisements or redirects. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.

In terms of your credit card information and buying add-on products, it has nothing to do with the advertisements that come from third-party ad networks. The credit card information you would submit is taken care of by one of the most trusted credit card processing networks on the internet called Stripe.

When you purchase an upgrade it goes directly to our secure payment processor who charges credit cards on our behalf. No copies of your credit card information are ever saved on our servers. All communication between you and us and between us and the payment processor happens under bank-grade encryption, so that your credit card details cannot be intercepted by anyone, at any time.

You can read more about Stripe here:

Alright you've convinced me about the security measures.

I'll upgrade next paycheck.
