We had a 4-way tie for 6th place in our league with only 8 teams making the playoffs. Per our league rules, the 1st tiebreaker to be used is Head-to-Head. Two teams went 2-1 and the other two went 1-2. Somehow, we ended up with a 1-2 team being seeded higher (#7) than a team that went 2-1 (#8). Any chance we can get this fixed before the game starts tonight?

It's correct as they head-to-head tiebreaker can't always be applied there. When 3 or more teams or tied, it can only be used if one team has defeated all the other teams in the tie or if one team has lost to all the others in the tie. They would have to be undefeated to progress vs. the other teams or have 0 wins vs. them to be knocked out.

It is broken down for you on the left side of the Playoffs page here: fleaflicker.com

If you need to change seeding because you're using your own rules you can at League>Settings>Edit Playoff Seeding.

For individual playoff tiebreaking questions like this, please contact us at fleaflicker.com

But here's why yours was broken that way:

Majestic, Do, Kaep and The are tied.

Your tiebreaking rules are below and it's reset when you can advance a team to the next step:

Power & Playoff Rank Tiebreakers

Best head-to-head record

Most average points/game

Hardest schedule (record)

Hardest schedule (points)

Head-to-head is skipped here because it can't be used and most average points is used to get the first team in.

Majestic has the most points and they get in.

Do, Kaep and The are then tied.

Do swept Kaep and The and head to head can be used here as they didn't lose to either team and beat both: fleaflicker.com

Do gets in.

This leaves Kaep and The.

Kaep swept The and gets in here:

fleaflicker.com

This leaves The out of the playoffs.

Just so you know, this isn't how tiebreakers work in any competitive sporting events. The correct way to do this would be to use the 1st tiebreaker (H2H) to split the 4-way tie into 2 groups (2-1 vs. 1-2). From there, you can re-apply H2H or go to total points. The way you have it set up makes points the de facto 1st tiebreaker. For a 1-2 team to be seeded ahead of a 2-1 team is completely illogical. Hopefully you guys can fix this for next year.
