Why does the qb not receive negative rushing yards when he is sacked? Maybe it's there and I'm not seeing it, but he was sacked nine times and his rushing yards were not changing.

Dleww, that's a difference between the college and the pro scoring systems. In the NFL (as FFCSR_Hal said), sacks are counted against a team's (not the QB's) passing yardage. In college, sacks are taken from the QB's rush yards which may be where you got the idea.

If it's not a designed run deemed by the official scorers (which none were tonight), yardage off a sack does not count against for the individual QB. They count under Net Passing Yards for the team, but not for the QB either.

Interesting, so when qb is trying to get away from pressure in the pocket and and scramble but the defense still brings him down for a sack thats not considered a "run"? Yet if he were to allude the pressure, break free and gain positive yards then those count as points? Still not a "designed run."
