Pettigrew caught 10-of-15 targets for 70 yards in 14 games during the 2014 regular season. Even though injuries limited Joseph Fauria to seven appearances, Pettigrew was unable to make an impact in the passing game. Eric Ebron's 49 targets were easily tops among the team's tight ends, and while the rookie struggled throughout the season, he may handle a larger role in 2015. Pettigrew signed a four-year, $16 million contract before the 2014 season, but now that he's mostly just a blocking specialist, the Lions may consider releasing him. Of course, the Lions have always seen something in Pettigrew that isn't apparent to anyone else.

Pettigrew is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's playoff game against the Cowboys. Prior to his exit from Sunday's game, Pettigrew -- who finished the regular season with just 10 catches for 70 yards in 14 games -- caught his only target for 11 yards.

Pettigrew (foot) was not targeted in Sunday's 34-9 loss to the Patriots. Pettigrew was active for this game, but Eric Ebron was the only Detroit tight end to record a reception. Pettigrew is simply not in a position to post fantasy-relevant numbers right now, especially with the Lions' offense scuffling.

Pettigrew (foot) is listed as active for Sunday's game against New England. With just nine catches for 68 yards in eight games to date, Pettigrew is not a high-percentage fantasy lineup option these days.

Pettigrew (foot) is probable for Sunday's game against New England. Pettigrew is ready to go for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but as has been the case all year, it's hard to see the blocking tight end earning enough of a receiving role to establish much predictable fantasy value.

Pettigrew (foot) was limited in Thursday's practice, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Pettigrew's downgrade from full to limited isn't particularly encouraging for his Week 12 prospects. Because the remaining tight end options (Joseph Fauria, Eric Ebron, and Kellen Davis) are healthy, the Lions could arguably exercise caution Sunday at New England and keep Pettigrew on the sideline. However, the Lions are far from making a decision, meaning Friday's injury report will be a decent barometer of his ability to take the field.

Pettigrew (foot) practice in full Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Because no other Lions tight end makes his residence on the injury report, the position is perhaps the healthiest it's been all year. Pettigrew has one catch-free performance on the ledger over the last three games, with DNPs in the other two, meaning Pettigrew's return to action appears imminent.

Pettigrew (foot) took part in Wednesday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Pettigrew was last targeted in Week 8 against the Saints, as a foot issue has kept him sidelined two of the last three games, with a catch-less outing in the other. As the week rolls along, expect his status for Sunday's contest in New England to receive clarification.

Pettigrew (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. With Pettigrew out, Eric Ebron is line line to start at tight end for the Lions on Sunday.

Pettigrew (foot) is probable for Sunday's game against Arizona. Pettigrew was added to the injury report Friday with a limited practice, but the probable designation implies that it was mostly just to give his foot some rest after he hurt it a bit against Miami last week. He is in any case likely to remain only a peripheral part of the Detroit passing game.
