Marlins sent 1B Joe Mahoney outright to Triple-A New Orleans. The 26-year-old slugger had a golden opportunity early in the 2013 season to seize the Marlins starting job at first base, but succumbed to a hamstring injury and never got another chance. In his nine games with the big club, he hit .276/.276/.414 with a homer and four RBI in 29 at-bats. He'll likely compete for a reserve role with the Marlins next season.

It looks like he'll see regular action hitting in the cleanup spot for the Marlins, which adds to his value and certainly makes him worthy of a look in most mixed leagues.
