Locke cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Locke was designated for assignment following his brutal 11-run outing and subsequently passed through waivers unclaimed. He'll presumably join the starting rotation in New Orleans.

Locke was designated for assignment Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Locke has seen sporadic past success in the majors, but it simply wasn't to be during his tenure in Miami. Although he allowed three earned runs or less during his first four outings with the Marlins, things began to unfold after that. It all culminated with a 11-hit, 11-run blowup outing against the Cardinals on Monday which ballooned his ERA up to 8.16. The Marlins have finally seen enough, and will remove him from the 40-man roster to call up Drew Steckenrider.

Locke (0-5) allowed 11 runs on 11 hits and four walks while striking out two batters through just 2.2 innings during Monday's loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty continues to struggle, and this outing was obviously particularly bad. With an 8.16 ERA and 1.78 WHIP for the campaign, Locke is off the fantasy radar in the majority of settings. It's also up in the air how much longer the Marlins will keep him in the rotation. Locke lines up to face the Giants at AT&T Park if he makes his next start.

Locke (0-4) gave up three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's 8-0 loss to the Mets. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
All the runs against him came in the first inning, but Locke settled down after narrowly escaping even worse damage. The 29-year-old lefty has looked rough after a biceps issue kept him sidelined until the start of June; Locke's failed to complete six innings in any of his six starts, and he's given up at least three runs in five straight outings. It's not yet clear that his spot in the Marlins' rotation is in jeopardy, but not many fantasy rotations are likely to find room for him.

Locke (0-3) gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings in a loss to the Cubs on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty ran into major trouble in the second inning (34 pitches) and never recovered. Manager Don Mattingly did not mince words after the game, telling MLB.com, "[Locke] didn't look very sharp at all," but he did not give any indication that Locke is in immediate danger of losing his job. Locke now sits with a 5.70 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 23.2 innings this season.

Locke (0-2) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk across four innings Saturday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
While Locke has held his own in four starts with the Marlins, he's hardly a fantasy asset. The 29-year-old hasn't gone six innings in any of his starts and owns an unimpressive 4.58 ERA through 19.2 innings this season. He could prove to be serviceable as a streaming option against favorable matchups in deeper formats, but there are likely better options out there. His next matchup comes Thursday against the Cubs, who have proven difficult against southpaws this season with a second-ranked .343 wOBA against lefties.

Locke (0-2) allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out just three batters over 5.1 innings during Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Locke has held his own through three starts with Miami, but the lefty's 4.02 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 7.5 K/9 are hardly moving the fantasy needle. He's probably best utilized as a streaming option or target in daily contests when the Marlins face a favorable opponent. Locke projects to start against Atlanta next, and it's actually a sneaky tough matchup. The Braves entered Sunday with a second-ranked .341 wOBA against lefties this season.

Locke (0-1) gave up four runs -- three earned -- on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against the Cubs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
After opening the game with four scoreless frames, Locke fell apart in the fifth, giving up a three-run homer to Anthony Rizzo and an RBI double to Jason Heyward before being lifted. Locke turned in a surprisingly good effort against the Diamondbacks in his season debut, but he's still the same guy who put up a 5.44 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with the Pirates last year.

Locke allowed one run on three hits over 5.2 innings while striking out seven but had to settle for a no-decision in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
It was a strong Marlins debut for the left-hander, who spent the first two months of the year on the DL due to arm trouble. Locke has seen his ERA rise every season since 2013, peaking at 5.44 last year, but the Fish are still counting on him to help shore up their rotation. His next start is scheduled for Tuesday on the road against the Cubs.

Locke (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list and is scheduled to start Thursday against the Diamondbacks, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Locke will make his season debut for the Marlins after missing the first couple months of the season with shoulder tendinitis. The 29-year-old -- who compiled a 1.77 ERA and 22:2 K:BB across 20.1 innings during his four-game rehab assignment with High-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville -- will face Zack Greinke in his return to the mound. Justin Nicolino (finger) was placed on the disabled list in a corresponding move.
