Kirkman agreed to a minor league deal with the Braves on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kirkman hasn't pitched more than six big league innings since his 2013 campaign with the Rangers in which he posted an 8.18 ERA over 22 innings. The 30-year-old spent the 2016 season with the Brewers and Padres' Triple-A affiliates, posting modest numbers at each stop. He's a long-shot to make the Braves' major league roster.

Kirkman was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Kirkman appeared in just one game for the Brewers after being claimed off waivers by the team earlier in May, but he was removed from the roster to open up a spot for fellow reliever Jhan Marinez, who was acquired via trade from the Rays. Kirkman's next step will be determined after his waiver period comes to a close.

The Padres designated Kirkman for assignment Monday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
During his brief stint with the Padres over the last week, Kirkman made one disastrous relief appearance, giving up four runs on six hits across 1.1 innings. With the removal of the 40-man roster spot, the Padres may have signaled that the southpaw has his work cut out for him to return to the majors this season.

Kirkman signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports. Kirkman was released by the Rangers part way through spring training and appears to finally have found a landing spot. Given the Brewers' pitching woes to begin the season, a good showing in the minors could eventually result in a bullpen spot.

Kirkman was released by the Rangers on Tuesday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Kirkman was competing with fellow lefty Alex Claudio for a role in the bullpen, so Claudio now has much-improved odds to crack the Opening Day roster. Kirkman, on the other hand, will likely try to catch on with a new organization as soon as he can, but now figures to open the season in the minors.

Kirkman (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Kirkman suffered a shoulder impingement early into the spring training process, but it appears he's progressing towards his return. He remains one of three left-handed bullpen options for the Rangers in spring training, leaving him a shot at cracking the roster out of camp.

Kirkman (shoulder) played catch Wednesday after taking two days off, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Kirkman suffered a shoulder impingement last week, but has begun the process of returning to the mound. He's signed with the Rangers as a non-roster invitee, and will look for a strong showing in spring training to propel him to a roster spot.

Kirkman said his left shoulder feels fantastic Monday and hopes to start throwing again later this week, Fox Sports Southwest's Anthony Andro reports. He had a shoulder impingement last week, but it sounds like a little rehab did the trick, and he will be back to throwing in the near future.
