Stubbs signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
After being signed, Stubbs was assigned to Triple-A Round Rock. Stubbs opened the season in the majors with the Giants and played in 10 games, during which he went 2-for-22 (.091). Stubbs has plenty of major-league experience and has a career batting average of .242, but hasn't hit above .225 since 2014.

Stubbs was designated for assignment by the Giants on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs was just 2-for-22 (.091) through 10 games with the Giants before being ousted off the roster. The move made room for Justin Ruggiano, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A on Saturday. Given his major-league experience, Stubbs could draw some interest on waivers.

Stubbs is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs had started five of his first six games in a Giants uniform, but after Stubbs went 2-for-15 with five strikeouts in those contests, manager Bruce Bochy will give Gorkys Hernandez a spin in center field. It's likely that Bochy will simply ride the hot bat between the two center fielders until Denard Span (shoulder) returns from the disabled list.

Stubbs had his contract purchased from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs was added to the Giants to take the roster spot of Chris Marrero, who was DFA's earlier Monday after hitting just .132 through 15 games (38 at-bats). He's batting eighth and playing center field for Monday's contest against the Dodgers, and he could see plenty of playing time in the near future given the Giants' injury-plagued outfield.

With Denard Span (shoulder) in danger of landing on the disabled list, Stubbs would be the favorite to take his place on the roster, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old is having a strong start to the season with Triple-A Sacramento, slashing .265/.375/.471 with two home runs and a steal in 40 plate appearances. Stubbs has always possessed a fantasy-friendly skill set, so he could enter the equation as a short-term option in deep leagues if he does get the call to the majors.

Stubbs agreed to a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Mac Williamson (quadriceps) and Mike Morse (hamstring) out with injuries, the Giants are lighter than expected on outfield depth. He'll head to extended spring training before he likely heads to Triple-A Sacramento, though he could see some time in the majors at some point in 2017. Stubbs was released by the Twins after struggling in spring training, and he is coming off a year where he slashed .225/.330/.338 with three different major league teams.

Stubbs has elected for free agency Sunday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being informed that he wouldn't be making the Twins' 25-man roster, Stubbs elected to become a free agent. He'll look to jump in with another organization in 2017.

Stubbs has been told he won't make Minnesota's 25-man roster, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear if he'll try to sign with another organization or report to Minnesota's Triple-A club.

Stubbs went 1-for-1 with two walks in Monday's spring training win over Miami. He's competing for a reserve outfielder role. "He's a veteran guy, he's had some numbers. He's got an opportunity here," manager Paul Molitor told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs hit just .225 with a .667 OPS last season with three different MLB teams. He's likely a long shot to win a reserve outfield role, but it's possible that the new Twins management may not be totally committed to Robbie Grossman as the fourth outfielder.

Stubbs signed a minor league deal with the Twins on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs hasn't had much MLB success since his 2014 campaign with the Rockies in which he hit .289 with 15 home runs and 20 stolen bases. With a solid spring training performance, it's possible that the 32-year-old could play his way into a reserve outfield role for the Twins in 2017.
