Boggs was released by the Braves on Sunday. Six weeks after signing Boggs to a minor league deal, the Braves cut ties with the 31-year-old. He posted disappointing results in 13 appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett (6.08 ERA). Boggs had an impressive 2012 campaign, posting an ERA of 2.21 in 78 appearances for the Cardinals, but things quickly fell apart from there. In 2013, his last year in the majors, Boggs allowed 23 runs in 27 appearances with the Cardinals and Rockies. Boggs may latch on with another organization, but it's highly unlikely he will work his way into a fantasy-relevant role.

Boggs was released by the Red Sox on Thursday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports. Boggs was brought on as a non-roster invite, but didn't quite make the cut after allowing nine earned runs in four innings this spring. The 31-year-old will likely look to catch on elsewhere, though expect it to be a low-risk, team-friendly deal.

Boggs pitched his second scoreless relief inning in Wednesday's game against the Yankees. Boggs, who is coming off hernia surgery, said he's feeling good again and is showcasing himself for a potential job in the majors. If not with Boston, certainly for any other team watching. Boggs can opt out of his minor-league contract with Boston by Apr. 4, if he's not on the major league roster.

Boggs says he should have underwent hernia surgery earlier, the Boston Globe reports. "I kick myself for not taking care of it sooner than I did," said Boggs. "To see the effect it had on me and my career, and how I've had to start all over again, convincing people I can get back to what I was, has been a pretty humbling experience for me." Boggs, who pitched an inning and struck out two Tuesday against Northeastern University, put off surgery when the problem first arose in 2013 and went from closer to Triple-A pitcher in a matter of weeks. He's kicked around since then with Rockies, White Sox and Giants before undergoing surgery in the offseason. Boggs is an under-the-radar relief option for Boston this spring.

Boggs signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox on Monday that includes and invite to spring training, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports. Boggs hasn't seen time in the majors since 2013, playing most of 2014 in Triple-A between two different organizations, struggling with both. The 30-year-old will need to prove something in spring training if he wants a chance at a spot in the Red Sox's bullpen.

Giants signed RHP Mitchell Boggs to a minor league contract. Boggs was released by the White Sox on July 1 after posting a 9.50 ERA and 18/17 K/BB ratio in 25 relief appearances at Triple-A Charlotte. He was one of the top setup men in the majors in 2012 with the Cardinals, but that seems like the distant past at this point.

White Sox released RHP Mitchell Boggs. Boggs gets the boot after posting an ugly 9.50 ERA over 25 relief appearances in Triple-A this year. The move clears a spot for Henry Rodriguez on the Charlotte roster.

White Sox re-signed RHP Mitchell Boggs to a minor league contract. Boggs was released last week when he failed to make the Opening Day roster, but he's now back on a minor league deal. He should be able to make it back up to the majors at some point this season.

White Sox released RHP Mitchell Boggs. Chicago tried to buy low on his arm talent with a one-year, $1.1 million big league contract last month, but they'll swallow their losses early. You may recall that Boggs replaced Jason Motte (Tommy John surgery) as the Cardinals' closer last season, but he was quickly displaced and ended up getting lit up for a 8.10 ERA over 23 1/3 innings between St. Louis and Colorado. He'll have to settle for a minor league deal this time around.

White Sox signed RHP Mitchell Boggs to a one-year contract. The financials aren't available, but Boggs managed to land a major league deal. The soon-to-be 30-year-old reliever posted an 8.10 ERA and 16/20 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings at the big league level last season but held a 3.08 mark over the previous three campaigns. The White Sox are obviously hoping Boggs can return to his 2010-12 form.
