Peralta's contract was selected by the Tigers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta had a delayed start to spring training and began the regular season in the minors to complete his throwing program. In three minor-league appearances (one start), he struck out four in 4.1 scoreless innings. Now that he's been cleared to join the major-league club, he'll likely serve as a multi-inning reliever, but he's also a candidate to start at some point.

Peralta is being promoted to Triple-A Toledo to continue his throwing program, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta joined the Tigers on a minor-league deal this offseason but was delayed in reporting to spring training due to visa issues. He began his season at Low-A Lakeland as a result and threw two frames with the team Saturday. He'll now shift his work to Triple-A Toledo. Though no exact timetable has been given from the team, it is anticipated that Peralta will have his contract selected by the major-league club, which could happen as early as April 15, according to Beck.

The Tigers reassigned Peralta to Low-A Lakeland on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Lakeland is the Tigers' spring training site, so Peralta's assignment to Low-A rather than Triple-A Toledo is likely just for convenience purposes. Peralta was scheduled to attend the Tigers' big-league camp as a non-roster invitee, but visa problems prevented him arriving in Florida until last weekend. Though he didn't have time to build up his pitch count and missed out on the Tigers' Opening Day roster, he's eventually expected to be called up from the minors to fill a multi-inning role out of the bullpen.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday that Peralta was approved for a work visa, but he won't join the Tigers at spring training until the weekend and won't be in the mix for a spot on the big club's Opening Day roster, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Peralta has finally worked out the visa issue that has kept him away from camp, he missed too much time to contend for a spot in the Tigers' Opening Day rotation or bullpen. Hinch said that Peralta, who posted a 3.07 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 93.2 innings in 19 appearances (18 starts) in 2021, will work out of the bullpen for Detroit once he completes his buildup program during the final week of camp and in the early part of the minor-league season. Since Peralta was scheduled to attend camp as a non-roster invitee, the Tigers won't have to place him on the injured list and will have to clear a spot from him on the 40-man roster whenever he's deemed ready to make his 2022 big-league debut.

Peralta was reassigned to minor-league camp on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta remains stuck outside the United States due to visa issues, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports, preventing him from converting his camp invitation to an Opening Day roster spot. Once he eventually arrives, he'll start ot make his case for a call-up, but he'll presumably still have to go through a typical spring buildup process, so he probably won't make the team right away.

Peralta signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Wednesday that includes an invite to major-league spring training, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta joined the Tigers for the 2021 campaign and pitched well, posting a 3.07 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 93.2 innings across 19 appearances (18 starts). He'll compete for a big-league roster spot this spring, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend a sizable portion of the season in the majors.

Peralta (4-5) allowed five runs (two earned) on nine hits and three walks over six innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Through three innings, the only damage against Peralta was a solo shot by Jose Abreu. He coughed up three runs after an error by Jonathan Schoop in the fourth and was charged with one final run in the sixth. He allowed two or fewer earned runs in his last seven starts, lowering his season ERA to 3.07 through 93.2 frames.

Peralta (4-4) allowed two runs on eight hits across 4.2 innings of work to take the loss Sunday against the Royals. He walked three and struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Facing off against one of his former teams, Peralta was unable to duplicate his efforts from his last two starts, when he allowed no runs across 13 innings of work. He was sort of lucky to allow just the two runs Sunday with 11 baserunners clogging things up in his 4.2 innings on the mound. Peralta still has a solid 3.08 ERA for the season and will look to end his campaign on a high note in his next scheduled outing Friday against the White Sox.

Peralta (4-3) tossed seven scoreless innings to pick up the win Sunday against the Rays. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta has pitched well for the Tigers, as he's now logged 13 scoreless innings across his last two starts, lowering his ERA to 3.04 in the process. The 32-year-old wasn't in the rotation to begin the season, though he's possibly pitching himself into the team's plans for 2022. Peralta is scheduled to start again Saturday against the Royals.

Peralta blanked the Brewers across six innings during Tuesday's no-decision. He allowed two hits and a pair of walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Peralta left with the game tied at 3-3, and Tigers didn't end up winning until the 11th, leaving the right-hander with his eighth no-decision over his last nine starts. The good news is that Peralta was finally able to pitch deeper into the game after lasting just four innings in each of his first two starts since returning from the injured list. The 32-year-old has put together a 3.32 ERA and 1.26 WHIP overall this season and projects for his next start Sunday at Tampa Bay.
