Wilin Rosario (hand) took batting practice before Wednesday's game. "It was a good day for Wilin. We got a good report," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "I think a lot of improvement from yesterday." It sounds like he could be back in the lineup as soon as Thursday's contest against the Mets.

Wilin Rosario (hand) hit in the batting cage Wednesday. He recently had an MRI on the left hand that didn't show any damage, so it's just a matter of him feeling good enough that he can catch and hit without discomfort. On-field batting practice could be next for him, possibly as early as Thursday. Jordan Pacheco is starting in his place Wednesday.

Wilin Rosario (hand) is out of the Rockies' lineup again Tuesday but is available off the bench if needed. An MRI on Rosario's left hand has come back clean, and he's feeling much better. Jordan Pacheco is behind the plate again Tuesday, but Rosario seems likely to be back in there Wednesday.

An MRI showed no fracture in Wilin Rosario's left hand or wrist. Rosario was out of the lineup for the second straight day Monday due to lingering soreness in his hand. While no structural damage was found, he's still dealing with inflammation and it's unclear when he'll be ready to return to action.

Wilin Rosario (hand) remained out of the Rockies' lineup Monday. The results of an MRI on Rosario's sore left hand taken Monday aren't yet available, but obviously he's still not well enough to play. The team should provide an update on the catcher later Monday. Jordan Pacheco is getting another start in Rosario's place.

Wilin Rosario is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his sore left hand Monday in Phoenix, Arizona. The Rockies open a three-game series with the Diamondbacks on Monday night, and it sounds like Rosario will sit. "It's been feeling a little weak," he said Sunday. "It's hard to tell (what's going on), because when I was back in Denver I felt it, then (Saturday) night I felt it in another part of my hand."

Wilin Rosario is not in the Rockies' lineup Sunday due to a sore left hand. "He's OK, but his hand is pretty sore, though," manager Walt Weiss said Sunday. "He felt it on his swing last night. It's a little tender." Weiss added that he doesn't think it's a DL situation for Rosario and they're "looking at him day to day here." Jordan Pacheco is starting in Rosario's place Sunday.

Wilin Rosario hit a two-run homer in the Rockies' loss to the Padres on Monday. The one-out fifth inning shot off Eric Stults was Rosario's only hit in four at-bats. Rosario missed a game over the weekend with a sore wrist, but he's suffering no ill effects with homers in each of his past two games. The Baby Bull hasn't done much this season outside of that pair of round-trippers, however, slashing .214/.277/.405 over 42 at-bats.

Wilin Rosario hit his first home run of the season Sunday, but the Rockies lost to the Giants. Rosario hit 21 homers last season and is one of the more powerful catchers in the game, so it's surprising that it took 13 games to hit his first homer of 2014. It was only his third RBI and the 25-year-old is batting just .211, both numbers that should fix themselves quickly. He's not in the lineup for his defense, after all.
