Flowers will start at catcher and bat eighth Wednesday against the Twins, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves have run a somewhat equitable timeshare at catcher for portions of the season, but Flowers has clearly fallen behind Brian McCann on the depth chart since the All-Star break. Flowers will crack the lineup for just the 10th time in the second half in what amounts to a maintenance day for McCann due to the quick turnaround for Wednesday's series finale. Dating back to the beginning of May, Flowers is slashing an ugly .187/.269/.388 while striking out in 35.9 percent of his plate appearances.

Flowers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 13-1 loss to the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Atlanta was only down 3-0 when the veteran catcher connected on his eighth homer of the year, but the floodgates opened after that. Flowers hadn't gone yard since June 22, and he seems to have fallen behind Brian McCann on the depth chart, starting only four of 11 games in July.

Flowers went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 13-9 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran catcher continues to thrive in a timeshare with Brian McCann. Neither backstop has started more than two games in a row since April, but Flowers is taking advantage of being well rested, slashing .314/.444/.571 through 45 plate appearances in June with with two homers and five RBI.

Flowers went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's rout of the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Splitting time behind the plate with Brian McCann seems to be keeping both veteran catchers fresh and productive. For his part, Flowers is slashing .286/.432/.500 through nine games in June, and on the season he's got six homers in 40 contests after hitting only eight in 82 games last year.

Flowers went 1-for-4 with two walks, a double and a run scored in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
His run was a big one -- after doubling with one out in the ninth and Atlanta down 5-1, he advanced to third on a wild pitch then scored on a balk, setting the stage for Ronald Acuna's game-tying three-run homer later in the inning. Flowers has been stuck in a slump, going 4-for-33 (.121) in his prior 11 games, but Sunday's performance might be what the 33-year-old needed to spark his bat.

Flowers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Before sitting out Wednesday's 7-4 loss, Flowers had started at catcher in each of the Braves' prior three games. It's worth noting, however, that the opposition deployed a lefty starting pitcher in each of those contests, so Flowers still appears to be stuck in the short end of a platoon with McCann. Flowers will still pick up occasional work against right-handers when McCann requires rest, but the timeshare arrangement is nonetheless harmful for Flowers for fantasy purposes.

Flowers went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over San Francisco on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Flowers hit a 405-foot blast off Madison Bumgarner in the fifth inning to temporarily tie the score. The backstop continues to split time with Brian McCann; both have been effective this season, with Flowers owning the edge in homers, 5-3. His other counting stats have been minimal, however, as he has only two additional extra-base hits and has driven in only nine runs on the season.

Flowers went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 12-8 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The catcher's sixth-inning blast off Corbin Burnes was one of three in the frame and four on the game for Atlanta hitters. Flowers is now slashing .293/.356/.488 on the year with four homers in 25 games, but he's had trouble turning those hits into fantasy production -- he has only eight runs and eight RBI.

Flowers went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI against Arizona on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Flowers knocked home a run in the third inning on a single to right field, and he tacked on a big insurance run in the eighth on a triple. The 33-year-old backstop is slashing .276/.329/.447 with three homers and six RBI through 23 games in 2019.

Flowers will start behind the plate and bat seventh Thursday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves have been running a fairly even timeshare between Flowers and McCann since the latter returned from the injured list April 17. McCann has drawn eight starts behind the plate over that span, while Flowers will pick up his seventh in the series finale. The arrangement serves to limit the fantasy value of both players, but should prove helpful in preserving health for the tandem over the course of a 162-game schedule.
