Wood (4-7) took the loss Monday against the Dodgers, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two in 4.2 innings.

The southpaw had the tall task of taking on You Darvish and a 99-win team, but he did little to limit the damage. Wood should be considered a low-end streaming option in his last scheduled start of the season against the Dodgers next Monday.

Wood (3-6) was hit hard in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He allowed a career-high nine runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out two over 2.1 innings.

Wood allowed a whopping ten baserunners and was only able to record five outs in Tuesday's disastrous outing. The 30-year-old has now allowed 15 earned runs over his past two starts and has raised his ERA to an unsightly 6.80 on the season. The Padres are currently rolling with a six-man rotation, but Wood could soon find himself out of a starting job if his struggles continue.

Wood (2-2) lasted just two innings Tuesday, giving up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout in a losing effort against the Cardinals.

Wood was able to to hit a home run for the second consecutive start, but he also failed to complete five frames on the mound in both outings. The veteran southpaw has provided mixed results since joining the Padres' rotation (5.03 ERA), so it will be tough to trust him in his next start against the Twins next Monday.

Wood shouldn't be considered anything more than a low-end streaming option in deep leagues when he takes on the Cardinals next Monday.

That said, Wood has performed well in three home starts (2-0 with a 1.00 ERA), giving him streaming appeal in deeper formats. The 30-year-old's next outing comes in the friendly confines of Petco Park in a favorable matchup against the Giants next Wednesday.

Wood (2-1) was charged with one unearned on three hits over seven innings to earn the win over the Nationals on Saturday. He issues two walks and struck out two.

EDGE Analysis

It wasn't the same vaunted Washington lineup we've seen for most of the year -- they were without Daniel Murphy in addition to Bryce Harper (knee) -- but it was an impressive effort nonetheless. Wood caught the Nats looking at 19 called strikes, and he has now allowed a total of two earned runs in his last three starts (17 innings). Assuming all of the other Padres starters stay on schedule, Wood will face the Marlins in Miami his next time out.

Wood has managed just one start of more than five innings since entering the San Diego rotation on July 28. He owns a 5.57 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over his four starts in Padres uniform, and despite 22 strikeouts in just 21 innings, he looks to be a fantasy non-factor the rest of the way.
