Starlin Castro 2019 Outlook: More Mediocrity in Miami rotoballer.com Fri 12/28/18 9:12 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro had a mostly predictable 2018 season and is likely to put up similar numbers in 2019. Castro played in 154 games in 2018, slashing .278/.329/.400. He hit 12 home runs, drove in 54 runs, and scored 76 times. He was able to steal six bases, and ended up with a pedestrian 2.3 f[...]

Starlin Castro is Back in the Lineup rotoballer.com Fri 9/28/18 6:31 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the New York Mets. Castro left on Monday to be with his wife who was having a baby. He missed three games, but is back in the lineup for this one. Although, Castro has not been hitting well lately. He'll bat second and play second base versus righty Corey Oswalt. Castro is probably not the best candidate for DFS lineups, but Oswalt has struggled this season.

Starlin Castro Leaves Team Monday rotoballer.com Mon 9/24/18 8:08 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro left the team on Monday to return to Florida to be with his wife, who went into labor. With the regular season finale on Sunday, the Marlins may just have Castro miss the final week of the season. Castro was a bright spot on a bad team in 2018, hitting .278/.329/.400 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI and six stolen bases. The counting stats are usually lacking with Castro, but he makes up for it with his respectable average in deeper leagues.

Starlin Castro is Sitting on Monday rotoballer.com Mon 9/24/18 5:41 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Washington Nationals. This will be a rare rest day for the veteran infielder. Miguel Rojas will play second base and bat second versus righty Stephen Strasburg. DFS players can go ahead and avoid Rojas for this one.

Welcome to Week 26 of the Cut List. This week I took a peek at the recent performances of Nomar Mazara, Travis Shaw, Adam Eaton, and Francisco Cervelli. Now is the time to start nailing your free agent acquisitions. Each move has major implications in the final days of the season.  [...]

Starlin Castro is Sitting on Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 9/18/18 6:17 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Washington Nationals. This appears to be a rare day off for the veteran infielder. Miguel Rojas will cover second base and bat second versus righty Stephen Strasburg. Rojas is not really worth a look in DFS contests on Tuesday. There should be better options available.

The Cut List (Week 25): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 9/16/18 8:00 AM

Welcome to Week 25 of the Cut List. This week I'm taking a look at Adam Jones, Carlos, Gonzalez, Odubel Herrera, and Starlin Castro.   All four players should be cut in most standard shallow formats. We're in the thick of the fantasy playoff season and we need to own players who are actually producing results. These four players are not.   Want some waiver wire advice to make up for those necessary cuts? Make sure you check out our waiver wire blog for the best pickup cons[...]

Starlin Castro is Resting on Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 9/1/18 2:47 PM

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Castro is hitting .385/.455/.538 with zero home runs and two RBI off Jays' starter Marco Estrada in his career. However, the Marlins decided to give Castro the night off despite his solid numbers against Estrada. Miguel Rojas will play second base and bat seventh versus Estrada. He's not worth a look in DFS contests since he does not have enough upside with the b[...]

Miami Marlins second baseman Starlin Castro (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves. This will be a rare off day for the veteran infielder, while Miguel Rojas gets the start at second base and bats seventh against righty Mike Foltynewicz. Rojas is worth a look in NL-only leagues, but can be avoided in DFS contests.

The Cut List (Week 21): Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 8/19/18 4:00 AM

Welcome to Week 21 of the Cut List. Last week we saw Jon Lester and Jed Lowrie bounce back after enduring major slumps in July. Those weren't the best calls I've made this year, to say the least. This week I'm taking a look at Brian Anderson, Kyle Schwarber, Sean Newcomb, and Chris Taylor. All four players should be cut in most standard shallow formats.   Want some waiver wire advice to make up for those necessary cuts? Make sure you check out our waiver wire blog for the best pickup[...]
