Reed Johnson (Achilles) is still not feeling strong enough to attempt to sprint. Johnson has been out for a month with left Achilles tendinitis and hasn't made much in the way of progress. He's taking batting practice everyday, but he's obviously still a ways off from game action.

Reed Johnson is still having issues running due to his left Achilles injury. Johnson tried to do some light jogging last week and still felt some discomfort, so he's restricted to batting practice until there's some improvement. "It's not ready yet," said Johnson. "It's going to be a little bit I think." The Braves remain hopeful that he'll be ready to return before the end of the season.

Reed Johnson (Achilles) has yet to be cleared to resume running. "I still can't run," Johnson said. "So I've just been walking on the treadmill. I haven't even really jogged yet so I don't even really know what the timetable would be from there." Johnson has been taking batting practice and throwing for the past 5-6 days and is having custom orthotics made in hopes of speeding along the recovery process.

Reed Johnson (Achilles) has yet to be cleared to run. Johnson has been hitting and throwing for a while and said that his left Achilles felt much better this past week. He should be cleared to run soon and be activated shortly after that.

The Braves don't yet have a timetable for Reed Johnson's (Achilles) return. "That's going to be one that we just have to get a feel for as he's getting better," Wren said. "We feel comfortable that he'll be back, we just don't know exactly when." Reed hit the disabled list Tuesday with left Achilles tendinitis and was replaced on the roster by outfielder Todd Cunningham.

Braves placed OF Reed Johnson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 29, with left Achilles tendinitis. Johnson aggravated his Achilles during Sunday's game and will require an extended absence. The Braves have called up outfielder Todd Cunningham from Triple-A to take his place on the active roster.

Reed Johnson (Achilles) is considered day-to-day. Johnson left Sunday's game against the Cardinals after his Achilles flared up on him in the eighth inning. He'll be a game-time decision on Monday.

Reed Johnson left Sunday night's game against the Cardinals with a "tweaked" Achilles. Johnson appeared as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning and may have suffered the setback on an infield single. The severity of the injury isn't yet known and he will be reevaluated Monday.

Reed Johnson went 4-for-4 with three doubles versus the Rockies in Tuesday's win. Unfortunately, he didn't have any runs scored or RBI to go along with them. Since being acquired from the Cubs last summer, Johnson has appeared in 56 games for the Braves and has just eight runs scored and four RBI. He has a little value in NL-only leagues with Jason Heyward out, but he's probably not going to be much of an asset.

Reed Johnson will start in right field for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies. Johnson is filling in for Jason Heyward, who underwent an appendectomy late Monday night. The 36-year-old is starting against the left-hander Jeff Francis and figures to split playing time in right field with Jordan Schafer. The Braves could also give Evan Gattis a look in the days to come.
