Davis was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's spring loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Davis joined the Mets on a minor-league deal in December and got the starting nod in left field Tuesday. The 38-year-old has a difficult path to playing time with Jeff McNeil transitioning to the outfield -- given the acquisitions of Jed Lowrie and Robinson Cano -- and the recently acquired Keon Broxton likely to serve in a reserve outfield role.

Davis signed a minor-league contract with the Mets which includes an invitation to spring training on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder found himself a good organization in which to battle for a center field job. Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto can handle center but are best suited for the outfield corners, where they'll likely remain until Yoenis Cespedes returns from heel surgery in the second half of 2019, and Juan Lagares doesn't have a particularly firm hold on the job. The 38-year-old's defense still graded out well in center last season, but he hit just .224/.278/.281 in 216 games for the Indians. He did manage 21 steals, which gives him potential deep-league value, but he'll have to hit well enough to earn semi-regular playing time if he's to get a chance to show off his wheels.

Davis (illness) was activated off the 10-day disabled list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Davis had a brief rehab assignment with the Indians' Eastern League affiliate and now returns after spending the minimum 10 days on the DL. The 37-year-old should serve as a fourth or fifth outfielder for the Indians over the final month of the season.

Davis (illness) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Davis is scheduled to play Wednesday and Thursday for the Indians' Eastern League affiliate before he's presumably reinstated from the disabled list Saturday when rosters expand. The 37-year-old will likely be ticketed for a role as the Tribe's fourth or fifth outfielder upon returning from the DL with Greg Allen performing well of late as the team's primary center fielder.

Davis was put on the 10-day disabled list retroactive to Monday due to a non-baseball related medical condition, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though the Indians declined to comment any further on Davis's condition, the club expects him to be back on the active roster by Sept. 1. He will officially be eligible to come off the shelf Aug. 30. In a corresponding move, Edwin Encarnacion (biceps) was activated from the DL.

Davis is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Davis started three straight games in center field last weekend after Tyler Naquin (hip) was placed on the 10-day disabled list, but the 37-year-old's time as a lineup regular proved to be short lived. With the Indians acquiring Leonys Martin from the Tigers prior to the non-waiver trade deadline Tuesday, Davis has since faded back to a reserve role. He'll be on the bench Sunday for the fifth time in the Indians' last six games.

Davis will start in center field and bat ninth Sunday against the Tigers, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Tyler Naquin landing on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with right hip discomfort that was later reclassified as a stress reaction, Davis tentatively looks to be in store for an everyday role in center field. He'll draw his third straight start Sunday, but a clearer picture on Davis' outlook might not come until after Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline passes. With Lonnie Chisenhall (calf) also facing an uncertain return date, the Tribe could be in the market for an impact outfielder, which may result in Davis falling back into a reserve gig.

Davis is not in the lineup Monday against the Cardinals, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis has started six of Cleveland's last seven games, going 6-for-19 over that stretch. Tyler Naquin will get the start in center field Monday.

Davis is starting in center field and leading off Wednesday against the Tigers, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He has now led off in back-to-back games, with both starts coming against southpaws. Davis will draw the occassional start against a righty, but his primary role while the Indians are without three injured outfielders is to play table setter against left-handed pitchers. He has a career 107 wRC+ against lefties and already has eight steals (on 11 attempts) this year despite the fact he is hitting just .232/.280/.275 in 77 plate appearances. His eight steals are by far the most from any plater with less than 100 plate appearances -- Jarrod Dyson (95 PA), Craig Gentry (69 PA) and Jace Peterson (71 PA) each have five steals.

Davis required four stitches to seal an open wound above his left eye, which he sustained while stealing second base in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Blue Jays, Ben Weinrib of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis wasn't forced to exit the contest as a result of the injury and passed all concussion tests afterward. He likely would have been ready to play if needed Saturday and Sunday, but poor weather in Cleveland resulted in the postponements of both games. If he's not included in the lineup when the Tribe resumes play Tuesday against the Twins in Puerto Rico, Davis should be available off the bench as a pinch hitter or late-inning defensive replacement.
