Swisher is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers. Swisher will find himself on the bench for the fourth time in five games, as manager Terry Francona seems to have turned the DH spot over to David Murphy for now. The 34-year-old is slashing a pitiful .198/.261/.297 batting line on the season, and will be exceedingly difficult to move in any trade due to the fact that he's in the third year of a four-year, $56 million contract.

Swisher is out of the lineup Thursday against the Royals, The Plain Dealer reports. The Indians are looking to get a few at-bats for David Murphy, who joins the lineup for the first time since Friday. With Cleveland having a crowded outfield, Swisher will likely get a day or two off each week, allowing all of Murphy, Michael Brantley, Brandon Moss and Michael Bourn to start.

Swisher is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports. Swisher will take a seat following the return of Carlos Santana off the paternity list. The rest is his first following five straight starts, but it's possible he'll see some more common days off moving forward.

Swisher went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Wednesday's win over Texas. After missing the first month of the season to injury, Swisher's had a hard time getting it going. He should round into form in time, but even Swisher's finest form at this point in his career isn't of much use outside of deep or AL-only leagues.

Swisher is not in the lineup Monday against the Rangers. Swisher has started six of the last seven games for manager Terry Francona, but will take a seat with David Murphy set to serve as the DH. Murphy and Swisher, along with Michael Brantley, Michael Bourn and Brandon Moss, can only occupy four spots, so one of those players has to be the odd man out each day. It will be Swisher Monday afternoon.

Swisher is out of the lineup Friday against Cincinnati. Swisher DH'd for the last four games, but will get the night off Friday against Mike Leake and the Reds. Michael Brantley will slot in at DH with David Murphy taking over in left.

Swisher is out of the lineup Saturday against the Rangers. Swisher will get a day off following a three-hit night Friday, collecting three RBI and a run scored in the process. David Murphy will receive the start as the designated hitter Saturday in his place, batting cleanup.

Swisher had three hits and drove in three runs in Cleveland's 8-3 win over Texas on Friday. Swisher had been scuffling of late, going hitless in his previous 11 at-bats while striking out seven times entering play Friday. He'll continues to see regular action at DH as he looks to get back on track in his return from offseason knee surgery.

Swisher is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. He's gone 6-for-26 over seven games with five strikeouts since returning from the DL. David Murphy will DH for the Tribe on Wednesday.

Swisher went 4-for-4 Saturday with a double and a run scored. He's only been used as a DH so far since he came off the DL, but Swisher's swing at least gives the strong impression that he's recovered from his knee issues.
