Karns (forearm) will resume his throwing program Wednesday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The embattled pitcher had been shut down since June 6, but it seems that his lingering soreness has finally subsided. An exact timeline for his return hasn't been laid out yet, but he seems to be at least a couple weeks away from a full return given that he still needs to make it through a minor-league rehab assignment.

Karns (forearm) is without a timetable to return, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals have been waiting for all of the soreness in his arm to subside before he begins a rehab stint. With this in mind, it seems unlikely that he will be able to return to the rotation until mid June at the earliest.

Karns (forearm) said that his recovery is "going well" and that his arm is building up strength, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was on a role before the injury sidelined him last week. In his last four starts, Karns went 2-0 with a 2.01 ERA and 32:4 K:BB over 22.1 innings. Although he's throwing again, he hasn't pitched off a mound. A clear timetable for the 29-year-old's return will come along once Karns completes his first bullpen session.

Karns (forearm) has resumed long toss and will require a rehab stint prior to returning to the rotation, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's good to see he's gotten back on track with his recovery, but this likely means southpaw Eric Skoglund will fill his place in the rotation for at least two starts depending on how many rehab starts the Royals make Karns complete. He currently sits without a timetable for return, although a mid-June return seems like the best-case scenario at this point.

Karns (forearm) isn't expected to come off the 10-day disabled list until next week at the earliest, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's been no indication that Karns has resumed throwing since exiting his May 19 start with forearm stiffness, which resulted in his placement on the disabled list last week. The Royals have been able to get by with four starters since Karns was out, but will call up Eric Skoglund from Triple-A Omaha to take Karns' spot in the rotation Tuesday against the Tigers. Unless Karns makes demonstrable progress in the next few days, Skoglund looks like a good bet to enjoy a multi-start run with the big club.

Karns (elbow) was placed on the 10-day DL Wednesday afternoon, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes as expected, but as of now, the injury reports haven't suggested the right-hander will be sidelined for long. Karns will miss his scheduled start Thursday, yet the team is hopeful he'll only miss this one. A replacement hasn't been officially announced, but it's thought that rookie Miguel Almonte will get a crack at his first MLB start.

Karns underwent an evaluation on his forearm Saturday that identified fluid and tightness near his elbow, but showed no signs of a strain, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is certainly positive news, as Karns has seemingly avoided a significant injury. He's not out of the woods yet, though, as the Royals are still considering sending the 29-year-old to the disabled list. If he does land on the DL, he shouldn't miss more than one start. He'll remain listed as day-to-day until the Royals make an official decision regarding his health.

Karns is scheduled to have his stiff forearm examined by doctors Saturday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander left his Friday start after five innings with the injury, but the team maintained his removal was more of a precautionary measure. The severity of the strain and a firmer diagnosis should become apparent following the analysis, so consider Karns day-to-day for now.

Karns left Friday's start because of stiffness at the top of his forearm, manager Ned Yost told Shane Jackson of MLB.com. He gave up one run on five hits with five strikeouts before departing.
EDGE Analysis
It was his fourth straight start throwing at least five innings and allowing two or fewer runs, so hopefully the stiffness isn't a serious ailment.

Karns (2-2) allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while notching a career-high 12 strikeouts over five innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Although Karns allowed just three hits, two of those ended up landing over the outfield fence. Making it a tougher pill to swallow is the fact that both homers came off the bat of O's backup catcher Francisco Pena, who entered the game with just one deep fly in 23 career MLB games. On a more positive note, Karns is off to a good start this month. After suffering through a brutal April, the right-hander owns a 2.07 ERA with 29 strikeouts over three starts (17.1 innings) in May. He'll look to continue his recent run of impressive outings when he takes the mound Friday in Minnesota.
