Michael Young (thumb) returned to the lineup Friday. Young was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Padres after hyperextending his left thumb, and he didn't play Thursday. He's fine, though, and will play third base for the Rangers against the Dodgers.

Michael Young will start at first base in Game 6 of the World Series against the Cardinals on Wednesday night. Not a big surprise with the designated hitter out of the equation under National League rules. Mitch Moreland, who homered in Game 5, will be on the bench.

Michael Young worked out and will start at first base for the Rangers for first two games of the World Series. Ron Washington declined to name his starter for the entire series, saying only that Young will play with no DH for the first two games. Given Mitch Moreland's struggles it wouldn't be surprising if he stays there throughout. Young's started 36 games at first during the regular-season and four of 10 postseason games.

Following an explosive finish to the regular season that included six multi-hit games in his final eight contests, Young has fallen flat in the playoffs. He is now hitting .111/.172/.111.
