Saunders will start in right field and bat fifth Sunday against the Cardinals, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders' fantasy value looked to be trending downward after he began to lose out on at-bats following the recent activation of Howie Kendrick, but it appears he could soon settle back into a near-everyday role. With second base Cesar Hernandez (oblique) landing on the disabled list, Kendrick will shift over to the keystone in Sunday's game, and could end up settling in at the position for the duration of Hernandez's absence. If that's the case, It would likely open up a regular spot for Saunders in the outfield, giving the Phillies another power threat in the middle of the lineup.

Manager Pete Mackanin indicated that Odubel Herrera, Howie Kendrick, and Aaron Altherr are going to stay in the lineup if they keep hitting which leaves Saunders in a reserve role, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "At this point, I've got to play those guys," Mackanin said. "It'll all even out. At some point, they will get a rest. If they keep swinging the bat, we're going to keep it going."
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies signed Saunders for $9 million prior to this season with the hopes of trading him before the July 31 deadline. That looks unlikely to happen at this point given his meager production. The team is likely to deal Kendrick at some point, but that figures to open up playing time for one of their outfield prospects to come up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. It is hard to see Saunders working his way back into a regular role, barring injury or a significant slump from one of the other outfielders on the roster.

Saunders is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Jaime Garcia toeing the rubber for Atlanta, Saunders will head to the bench for another day off. Aaron Altherr will man right field in his stead, and could continue to do so unless Saunders can prove to be competent at the plate again following his rough start to the season.

Saunders is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders continues to scuffle at the plate and has seen his batting average continually drop over the past month of the season. He'll get the day off Sunday against the left-handed Matt Moore and the Giants. Aaron Altherr will take over in left field while Howie Kendrick again draws the start in left.

Saunders went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Saturday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders blasted his sixth bomb of the campaign to tie the game at two in a home win. His .410 slugging percentage is only slightly more impressive than his .224 batting average, making him a weak fantasy option.

Saunders went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders entered Wednesday's game having been hitless in his prior 14 at-bats, so it is nice to see some signs of life. He'll need to continue to produce to avoid having his playing time cut when Howie Kendrick comes off the disabled list next week.

Saunders is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies, Ryan Lawrence of PhillyVoice.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders is hitless (0-for-13) in four games since returning from a groin strain, so he'll head to the bench for a breather Tuesday. Aaron Altherr will slide over to right field for the game, opening up a spot for Ty Kelly to start in left field.

Saunders (groin) returned to action Friday, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout after replacing Daniel Nava in the sixth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders had departed Thursday's game with a groin strain and subsequently left out of Friday's starting lineup, but his return indicates the absence may have been a simple precaution. Despite the lackluster return, the 30-year-old should be set to return to his starting role in right field this weekend, where he is slashing .246/.296/.413 this season.

Saunders (groin) is not in the Phillies' starting lineup Friday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders suffered a groin strain in Thursday's contest against the Rangers that appears to still be lingering. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, according to manager Pete Mackanin, so continue to consider him day-to-day throughout the weekend. Daniel Nava will take over in right field for the time being.

Manager Pete Mackanin said the Phillies' training staff told him Saunders' groin strain does not appear to be serious, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saunders left Thursday's game with tightness in his left groin. He was injured while running to first base on a groundout in the fifth inning. Daniel Nava could see some additional playing time if Saunders has to sit out of this weekend's games.
