Magill gave up three runs in 1.2 innings on four hits with one strikeout in his second spring appearance Tuesday. He's given up three runs and five hits in 2.2 innings this spring.
EDGE Analysis
It's early in spring and Magill does have two strikeouts and no walks, so don't read too much into his stats. Still, Magill could be on the roster bubble. However, he does't have any minor league options left which could keep him in the bullpen even if he struggles this spring. While Magill is 29 years old and had a 3.81 ERA last season and a journeyman career, he showed improvement with his velocity to a 94.7 mph average fastball and a 8.9 K/9.

Magill (personal) is expected to be reinstated from the paternity list Tuesday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Magill left the team after Friday's game to be with his family for the birth of his child. After missing three contests, he'll be available out of the bullpen for the second game of the series against the Indians.

Magill was put on the paternity list following Friday's game, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Magill will miss Saturday's affair against the Royals and can be away from the team for a maximum of three games while with his family on leave. In a corresponding move, the recently acquired Oliver Drake will take his place in the bullpen.

Magill's contract was selected from Triple-A Rochester prior to Saturday's game against the Reds, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old righty has not allowed a run in 8.2 innings for Rochester, striking out 13 while walking two over that stretch. If he has some success early on with the big club, he could stick up for most of the season, likely working mostly in mid-to-low leverage situations.

Magill agreed to a minor-league deal with Minnesota on Friday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
Magill will add a little more organizational depth the the Twins' bullpen, and will likely begin the 2018 campaign at the Triple-A level. He's only played in 11 major-league games to date, with his most recent appearance coming with the Reds in 2016. Last season, he posted a 3.95 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 95.2 innings for Triple-A El Paso within the Padres' system.

Magill signed a minor league contract with the Padres on Wednesday, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports.
EDGE Analysis
Magill spent most of 2016 with Triple-A Louisville in the Reds' organization, where he posted a 4.46 ERA in 42.1 innings over 29 games. He did earn himself a call up to the majors for the first time in three years, pitching 4.1 innings in five games, allowing three earned runs. The 27-year-old reliever is likely to spend most of 2017 as bullpen depth with Triple-A El Paso.

Magill was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Magill cleared waivers unclaimed and will enter free agency at the end of the World Series, so this was likely just a procedural move. Though the 26-year-old struggled in the minors this year, he found his way on the big league roster as a September call up and posted a 6.23 ERA with five walks in 4.1 innings in the majors.

Magill was recalled by the Reds on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
His numbers at Triple-A Louisville weren't overly impressive this season but he did collect 43 strikeouts over 42.1 innings. His biggest issues surround command. The 26-year-old issued 21 free passes over those frames and will need to improve to have a future in the majors.

Magill (elbow) was released by the Reds on Sunday. Magill, who underwent Tommy John surgery in early-May, was the victim of a lack of available spots on the 40-man roster. The Reds needed some bullpen help, and the right-hander was a casualty of the ensuing shakeup. He'll look to catch on elsewhere, but considering the recent procedure, it will likely be on a low-risk deal.
