The St. Louis Cardinals placed third baseman Matt Carpenter (foot) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right foot contusion and called up rookie infielder Edmundo Sosa from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. Carpenter fouled a pitch off his foot on Monday and left the game early. He's been one of the biggest fantasy busts in 2019, hitting just .215/.321/.372 with 10 homers, 43 runs, 29 RBI and six steals in 293 at-bats. Despite the bad year, Carp is probably still worth stashin[...]

St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter (foot) left the game early on Monday after fouling a ball off his right foot, but X-rays came back negative and he's considered day-to-day. Don't be surprised if the 33-year-old sits out a game or two. Carp had a single, run scored and two strikeouts in four plate appearances on Monday and has been one of the bigger fantasy busts in 2019. He's hitting only .215/.321/.372 with 10 home runs, 43 runs, 29 RBI and six steals in 343 plate appearances. At t[...]

Matt Carpenter Lands on Injured List rotoballer.com Tue 7/2/19 6:36 PM

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter (back) has been placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Carpenter has been unable to play much this week due to a lower back strain. Carpenter has been awful with the bat, so maybe having some time off will help him in the long run. Yairo Munoz will bat leadoff and play third base versus righty Matt Carasiti on Tuesday. Munoz has been nearly impossible to get out over the last few weeks.

Matt Carpenter Remains Out on Sunday rotoballer.com Sun 6/30/19 12:41 PM

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. Carpenter has not been in the lineup since Tuesday. The Cards are facing a left-handed starter, so maybe that is why Carpenter remains out here. Yairo Munoz will get the start at third base and bat sixth versus lefty Joey Lucchesi. Munoz has been hitting everything this week, so he's worth a look as a cheap DFS option.

Matt Carpenter is Out on Wednesday rotoballer.com Wed 6/26/19 5:51 PM

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Carpenter has just four hits in his last 29 at-bats, so he'll take the night off. Tommy Edman will bat leadoff and play third base versus righty Daniel Mengden. Edman could be a cheap DFS option while in that spot and against a struggling starting pitcher.
