Adams isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Adams has started five of the Braves' six games to begin the season, going 3-for-20 with one home run and four RBI. However, he'll play a bench role Thursday with Marcell Ozuna serving as the designated hitter.

Adams went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 14-5 loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger took Jalen Beeks deep in the sixth inning for his first homer of the season, although Atlanta was already down 10-1 heading into the frame. Adams has gotten a surprising amount of playing time after being picked up by the team just before Opening Day, starting three of the first four games and going 3-for-13.

Adams will bat fifth as the designated hitter in Friday's season opener against the Mets, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger opted out of his deal with the Mets less than a week ago, and he'll be starting on Opening Day against his former team. Adams spent 2019 with the Nationals and had a .226/.276/.465 slash line with 20 home runs in 111 games, and he's unlikely to fill an everyday role with the Braves.

Adams' contract was selected by the Braves on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Adams opted out of his contract with the Mets on Saturday, and that decision paid off as he was added to the 30-man roster ahead of Atlanta's season opener Friday. The 31-year-old should play a bench role for the Braves to begin the year.

Adams signed a minor-league contract with the Braves on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Adams opted out of his minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday after he didn't make the major-league roster, and he'll remain in the NL East on another minor-league deal. It's unclear whether he'll be able to find at-bats with the Braves during the abbreviated 2020 campaign. The 31-year-old has hit at least 20 home runs in each of the past three seasons, but he had a career-high 115 strikeouts last year with the Nationals.

Adams exercised the opt-out clause in his contract and became a free agent Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams' minor-league deal came with the right to opt out if he wasn't placed on the big-league roster, and he elected to take advantage of that right, as he'd evidently concluded that there wasn't a role for him with the Mets even with the universal designated hitter rule in effect for this season. Whether or not at-bats are available for him elsewhere remain to be seen. His .261/.309/.469 career slash line is quite respectable, but he struggled to a .226/.276/.465 line and a 34.5 percent strikeout rate last season.

Adams has been added to the Mets' 60-man player pool, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran first baseman likely won't get much use out of his glove working behind Pete Alonso, but Adams could be a big part of the DH picture for the Mets this season. In 111 games for the Nats last year, the 31-year-old hit .226 with 20 homers.

Adams (chest) will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams returned to the spring lineup Monday as a designated hitter, marking his first Grapefruit League action in nearly two weeks after he left camp to undergo cardiac testing. Now that he's gained full clearance from doctors, Adams looks like he'll be ready to go for the start of the season. Adams remains firmly in the mix to win a reserve spot on the Mets' Opening Day roster.

Adams (chest) will serve as the designated hitter in Monday's spring game against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams has been sidelined since Feb. 25 while undergoing cardiac testing, but he was cleared to resume baseball activities last week and is now ready to get back into games. Adams, continuing his pursuit of a spot on the Mets' Opening Day roster, will hit cleanup in Monday's batting order.

Adams received good news regarding his cardiac tests and will resume baseball activities Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adams will wind up missing slightly over a week for a heart-related scare, but apparently everything checked out just fine in the end. The missed time will make Adams' already tough task of cracking the Opening Day roster even tougher, though he'll still have just shy of three weeks to make his case. Even when healthy, it may be tough for a 31-year-old corner bat coming off a down year to make the team, especially when Dominic Smith fits a similar profile but is seven years younger and coming off a much better season.
