Gregerson (shoulder, elbow, knee) was activated off the 10-day disabled list Friday, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson joined the team in Chicago but wasn't activated for the series against the White Sox, but will return from the DL for the home series against the Reds this weekend. The 34-year-old first landed on the DL in mid-May with a shoulder impingement, then underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in June while also dealing with elbow soreness.

Gregerson (shoulder, elbow, knee) has yet to be activated from the disabled list but has joined the Cardinals in Chicago for their series against the White Sox, Max Gelman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever made it through back-to-back outings for the first time in his rehab when he took the hill for Triple-A Memphis both Sunday and Monday. Gregerson has worked through multiple injuries since being sidelined May 16 with shoulder impingement, as he also ended up undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery June 11 and battled elbow soreness as well. It all finally appears to be behind him, although it's still unclear when the Cardinals will opt to activate him.

Gregerson (shoulder, elbow, knee) was credited with a win in Double-A Springfield's victory over Frisco on Friday by firing a scoreless eighth inning in which he recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson needed just nine pitches to get through his frame for the second consecutive outing. The right-hander has worked a trio of scoreless innings at the minor-league level in a rehab capacity, although his first two appearances came with Triple-A Memphis. Gregerson's potential return date to the big-league club remains up in the air, with manager Mike Matheny declining to provide a timetable when addressing the issue earlier in the week.

Gregerson (shoulder, elbow, knee) allowed an unearned run on two hits over a scoreless eighth inning in Triple-A Memphis' win over Iowa on Tuesday. He also recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Despite allowing the two hits, Gregerson only threw nine pitches during his frame, eight of which found the strike zone. The right-hander has now logged a pair of rehab innings over his two appearances without setbacks, but manager Mike Matheny does not have a firm timetable in mind for his return at this time, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Gregerson (shoulder) struck out two batters during a perfect inning in his rehab outing Saturday for Triple-A Memphis.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was sharp in his first game action since May 15, requiring only nine pitches to retire the side. Gregerson has been banged up since spring training with oblique, hamstring, elbow and knee injuries in addition to the right shoulder issue costing him time, so he'll likely require at least a couple more rehab appearances in the minors before being brought off the disabled list. Gregerson had been in contention for the closing role heading into the spring, but he'll likely have to settle for middle-relief or setup work with Bud Norris having since solidified himself as the Cardinals' ninth-inning man.

Gregerson (shoulder) is expected to embark on a rehab assignment this weekend, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson was able to begin a throwing program last week and recently tossed a bullpen during his first time back on a mound since suffering a shoulder injury in mid-May. In between, Gregerson underwent surgery to repair a torn right meniscus and had elbow soreness, but he appears to be ready to take the next step forward and pitch in a minor-league game in the near future. He will likely require a couple outings in the minors but if all goes well he could be back in St. Louis by next weekend.

Gregerson (shoulder, elbow) had arthoscopic surgery to repair a torn right meniscus Monday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Add a knee injury to Gregerson's growing injury tally, as he's already out with both shoulder and elbow soreness. Recovery from the surgery is expected to take at least another four-to-six weeks. It may be hard for fantasy owners to trust him once he returns from all of his injuries, and with Bud Norris having a fairly firm hold on the closer job in St. Louis, Gregerson's upside is not very high.

Gregerson (shoulder, elbow) played catch again Friday and hopes to progress to a bullpen session sometime next week, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A right shoulder impingement is the primary culprit for Gregerson's extended stay on the disabled list, but he's also working off some elbow soreness. The fact he was able to throw on back-to-back days is an encouraging sign, and he'll likely progress to minor-league rehab appearances if he's indeed able to successfully complete bullpen sessions next week.

Gregerson experienced elbow soreness in addition to the shoulder impingement that landed him on the disabled list Wednesday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Mike Matheny stated that the team is going to check out Gregerson's elbow and shoulder in the coming days, but failed to provide any more information on the matter. Obviously, when a pitcher sustains any sort of elbow injury there is always cause for concern, and this isn't any different. Look for another update on his condition once he's further evaluated.

Gregerson was put on the 10-day disabled list prior to Wednesday's game due to right shoulder impingement.
EDGE Analysis
This marks the second time this season that Gregerson will miss extended time on the DL, with the other being a hamstring issue that forced the right-hander to remain sidelined for the first three weeks of the year. There has yet to be any news on the severity of his injury, so expect another update on his status in the coming days. During Tuesday's outing, he allowed two earned runs off two hits, including a home run, while recording just one out. In a corresponding move, the club recalled John Brebbia from Triple-A Memphis.
