Nieuwenhuis will start in center field and bat sixth against the Cubs Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Nieuwenhuis is starting in center field for the fourth game in a row and batting sixth in the order. It's still not safe to say he's the everyday man in center given that Ramon Flores and Domingo Santana see time there as well but the Brewers are showing more trust in the 28-year-old by giving him consecutive starts. Even with the increased playing time, the .276 hitter is best reserved for deeper leagues, as he offers little in the way of counting stats.

Nieuwenhuis will start in center field Tuesday for the third game in a row.
EDGE Analysis
Nieuwenhuis has not officially staked a claim to the Brewers' regular center field job, but Tuesday's game will be his third straight start there, and sixth in the last nine games. He will hit fifth in Tuesday's batting order against Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks.

Nieuwenhuis is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Nieuwenhuis started three consecutive games in the outfield for Milwaukee, but he'll take a seat on the bench Wednesday with left-hander Tommy Milone pitching for the Twins. Ramon Flores will assume the starting role in center field in his stead.

Nieuwenhuis got the start in center field and hit eighth in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Pirates, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear at this point how the Brewers will be splitting up playing time in center field following the demotion of Keon Broxton, but Nieuwenhuis has made the most of his limited opportunities so far, slashing .250/.400/.500 with a home run and four RBI in just 12 at-bats on the season. If he keeps hitting eighth, however, it will be tough for him to remain productive even he wins a majority of the CF at-bats over Ramon Flores.

Nieuwenhuis is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Nieuwenhuis will make his second start of the season in center field and hit seventh against Pirates starter Juan Nicasio. Nieuwenhuis has played sparingly this season, but the Brewers optioned fellow center fielder Keon Broxton to Triple-A on Saturday, so it will be Nieuwenhuis and Ramon Flores splitting the center field duties in Milwaukee for the time being.

Nieuwenhuis will be part of the Brewers' Opening Day roster, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nieuwenhuis did not do anything particularly noteworthy in his first spring training with the Brewers, but he still showed enough to make the cut. Nieuwenhuis' role to begin the season has not been defined, but the Brewers have not named a starter in center field, and he will likely be in the mix there. He will also serve as a backup in left and right field behind Ryan Braun and Domingo Santana, respectively.

Nieuwenhuis, who remains in competition for a roster spot with the Brewers, drove in a pair of runs in a ninth-inning rally against the Cubs on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers may be more inclined to keep Nieuwenhuis on the Opening Day roster with Rymer Liriano on the shelf indefinitely with facial fractures. Nieuwenhuis is hitting .250/.333/.425 in 40 at-bats this spring, and would be limited to starts against right-handed pitching if he's able to secure a place on the 25-man roster spot to begin the year.

Nieuwenhuis is 2-for-9 with a double and three strikeouts through four spring games.
EDGE Analysis
This spring is very important for Nieuwenhuis, as he is one of the many players competing for the starting center field job with the Brewers. There is still a fair amount of time in spring training to make his mark on the Milwaukee brass, but he'll have to cut down on the strikeouts if he wants to become the frontrunner to garner the open spot in center field.

Nieuwenhuis was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Wednesday, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
After the Mets officially added Alejandro de Aza to their 40-man roster, Nieuwenhuis was placed on waivers by the club and subsequently claimed by the Brewers on Wednesday. Nieuwenhuis is still relatively young at 28 but has never had more RBI than strikeouts in any of his four major league seasons. He'll have a chance to provide depth at a corner outfield spot for the Brewers.

Nieuwenhuis got a rare start on Thursday and went 3-for-4 with two doubles in a 3-0 loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from a three home run game earlier in the season, this was Niewenhuis' best performance of the year. It's been a tough season for the outfielder, as he's hitting just .200 in 125 at-bats. It would appear to be a stretch for him to crack the playoff roster for the Mets this upcoming postseason.
