Justin Masterson struggled during his second rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Friday, allowing five runs on four hits over his 6 2/3 innings. The veteran right-hander struggled mightily with his command, issuing six walks and throwing just 62 of his 108 pitches for strikes. This outing certainly won't help his trade value, and it's likely he'll need at least one more tune-up before rejoining the Indians rotation.

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that teams have asked the Indians about the availability of Justin Masterson. Making his way back from a knee injury, Masterson will make his second rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Friday and could wind up returning with another team. The 29-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season after extension talks with the Indians this spring broke down. Masterson has put up a disappointing 5.51 ERA through 19 starts in his walk year, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him have a nice second half if his knee is right.

Justin Masterson (knee) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Friday. Masterson allowed a pair of runs over five innings in his first outing for Columbus on Sunday. The Indians contemplated having him rejoin the big league rotation on Friday but ultimately decided he'd be best off making another rehab start. He should be back in the Tribe's rotation next week.

Justin Masterson (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. That's assuming he gets through a bullpen session on Thursday with no issues. Masterson was placed on the disabled list earlier this month with a right knee injury that's been bothering him since his second start of the season. He shouldn't need more than 1-2 rehab starts before rejoining the Indians' rotation.

Indians placed RHP Justin Masterson on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee injury. Masterson missed a start with right knee soreness late last month and has struggled ever since, so the Indians will give him a bit of a break. The 29-year-old owns a disappointing 5.51 ERA through 19 starts in his walk year.

Justin Masterson was tagged for five runs in two-plus innings by the Yankees in a loss Monday. Masterson was all over the place tonight in his second start back after missing a turn with a sore knee. Just 24 of his 54 pitches were strikes, and he had a hit batter to go along with three walks In his last five starts, he's walked 17 over just 18 innings. The Indians might need to stash him on the DL for a couple of weeks, let him try to work through his troubles on the side.
