Jordan Zimmermann Will Start On Opening Day rotoballer.com Mon 3/25/19 10:46 AM

The Detroit Tigers announced that veteran pitcher Jordan Zimmermann will be tabbed as the Opening Day starter, giving him the honors for the second straight year. Zimmermann's time in Detroit has been relatively lackluster, and he turned in a 7-8 record in 2018 while posting a 4.52 ERA and just 111 strikeouts in 131 and 1/3 innings of work. He's not recommended in most formats unless he gets off to a very hot start.

Jordan Zimmermann Has Resumed Throwing rotoballer.com Thu 1/24/19 2:15 PM

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (abdomen) said he has already started throwing in Florida after core muscle surgery in October. He hasn't had any neck or back issues and isn't expected to need a nerve-block injection for the first time in a few years. Zimmermann will be 33 in May and just isn't much of a fantasy option these days outside of deep AL-only setups. The veteran right-hander doesn't miss many bats at this point in his career, is an injury risk and hasn't had an ERA [...]

Detroit Tigers outfield prospect Christin Stewart (abdomen) and starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (abdomen) underwent core muscle surgery in Philadelphia on Thursday. According to Dr. Robert Meyers, both surgeries were a success and both players are expected to be ready for spring training in 2019. Stewart has plenty of upside and should compete for a starting role last year after hitting .267/.375/.417 with two homers and 10 RBI in 17 games to finish off the season. He had 25 homers and 80 R[...]

Jordan Zimmermann Knocked Around By Brewers rotoballer.com Sat 9/29/18 2:10 PM

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has had a bit of an issue with the long ball this year (1.9 HR/9), and that problem cropped up again in a 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. Zimmermann went four innings, gave up four runs on eight hits, and struck out four while walking two against the Brew Crew. He was given a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but promptly gave up a two-run shot to Christian Yelich and a solo bomb to Ryan Braun in the bottom of the inning. Zimmermann[...]
