Jordan Walden (groin) didn't fare well during a bullpen session Monday. Walden hasn't pitched since August 21 due to lingering groin tightness. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez doesn't expect him back for another 5-7 days.

Jordan Walden is currently nursing a minor groin injury. Walden tweaked his groin while jogging over the weekend, but it's not a major concern. In fact, he could return to action as soon as Thursday or Friday.

Jordan Walden will be unavailable for the next couple of games due to a minor leg issue. It's not a serious concern for the Braves. Walden has a superb 2.47 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 52/13 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings this season out of the Atlanta bullpen.

The hand is a little swollen, so he'll likely miss a few games, but overall it's good news for the Braves.

Jordan Walden left Saturday's game against the Marlins after taking a comebacker off his right hand. Walden got the out on the Logan Morrison grounder but didn't stay in the game. If he is forced to miss time it would be a huge blow to the Braves bullpen, as Walden has a 2.50 ERA and 47/12 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings this year.

With Craig Kimbrel in need of a day off, Jordan Walden stepped into the closer's role and pitched a scoreless ninth for a save against the Nationals on Monday. Walden has a 2.37 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 38 innings out of the pen for the Braves. They've definitely been the winner in the Walden-for-Tommy Hanson swap with the Angels so far. For Walden, it was his second save in two years after he saved 32 games in 2011.

Braves activated RHP Jordan Walden from the 15-day disabled list. Walden, out since May 11 with shoulder inflammation, was cleared to return after he tossed a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance Monday with Triple-A Gwinnett. He returns to a 4.85 ERA and 16/3 K/BB ratio over 13 innings this season.
