Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports that the Rangers are not only interested in J.P. Arencibia, but also John Buck. The two clubs are an obvious match for a trade, as the Jays have tons of catching depth and the Rangers have none. Texas' interest in Arencibia isn't a surprise, but it's hard to believe anyone is terribly interested in Buck, who hit .192/.297/.347 in 2012 and is set to earn $6 million in 2013.

John Buck blasted a three-run homer in the ninth inning against the Mets on Saturday, but it wasn't quite enough to lead his team to victory. The three-run bomb was his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. Jon Rauch took over for R.A. Dickey after he'd allowed the first two runners to reach in the ninth, and Buck welcomed him with a towering drive over the left field wall. He's having an awful season offensively, hitting just .201/.308/.362 with 12 homers and 41 RBI, and has recently been losing the majority of his playing time to rookie Rob Brantly.

John Buck went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers. The multi-hit night was just Buck's sixth in 32 games since the All-Star break. Due $6 million in 2013, one of the worst signings of the 21st century is hitting .201/.308/.346 through Miami's first 137 games.

John Buck went 4-for-5 and homered in a second straight game Monday against the Diamondbacks. Buck's nice weekend could partly be explained by Coors Field, but he kept it going tonight and is 7-for-13 with three extra-base hits in his last three games. The Marlins will likely play him over Rob Brantly while he's hot.

John Buck hit a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Rockies. Buck's fourth-inning blast off Drew Pomeranz was his only hit in four trips to the plate. Although he's hitting an uncharacteristically solid .295 in the month of August, Buck is still sporting a nightmarishly bad .188/.301/.333 slash on the season. Buck is due $6 million in 2013.

John Buck smacked a two-run double as part of a four-run fourth inning, leading the Marlins to a 4-2 win over the Mets on Tuesday. Buck is in the midst of a truly abysmal season, hitting just .177 with eight homers and 29 RBI, so it's nice to see him contribute something positive to the fish. Even with his moderate power potential, he's a very difficult start in two-catcher formats due to his horrendous average.

According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Marlins are aggressively looking to deal John Buck before Tuesday's trade deadline. Buck joins Carlos Lee and Heath Bell as names that the Marlins would like to ship out of town before the end of the day. They are reportedly seeking outfield help in return, but shouldn't expect much for a catcher hitting an abysmal .169/.286/.298 with eight homers and 26 RBI in 76 games this season. Should they find a potential suitor, Brett Hayes would likely slide in as the starting backstop, with recently acquired Rob Brantley being promoted to serve as his backup.

John Buck hit a solo home run in Wednesday's blowout loss to the Red Sox. It's the first notable thing Buck has done since May 13, the last time he homered. Making $6 million, Buck is hitting an unbelievably bad .168/.297/.292 through Miami's first 68 games. His days of fantasy relevance are long gone.

John Buck went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in a 4-1 Opening Day loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday. Buck has some pop, but his batting average last year was a huge Achilles' heel. It's good to see that he started the season on the right foot.

John Buck homered and walked three times in the win over the Rays on Sunday. The Marlins are undoubtedly hoping Buck hits for a higher average this season after coming in at .227 last year. Still, that wasn't out line with what they should have expected. He'll probably be good for 15 homers and 50 RBI once again, but a big rebound isn't likely.
