St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jedd Gyorko was forced to leave Monday's game due to a right hamstring strain. He was 2-for-2 with a double and a hit by pitch before he was forced to leave. There hasn't been any further information yet, but it certainly looked like the kind of injury that could lead to some time on the disabled list. Matt Carpenter will take over third base while Gyorko is out, leading to more consistent playing time for Kolten Wong at second and Jose Martinez at first.

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Jedd Gyorko struggled this spring, posting a .186/.250/.279 slash line in 17 Grapefruit League games. He hit just one home run and drove in only six runs. Gyorko didn't need to earn the starting third base job this spring, but it still would have been nice to see him play well in his limited opportunities. Despite the poor spring numbers, he's still a decent fantasy choice in mixed leagues.
