J.J. Putz was unavailable on Wednesday night against the Giants due to soreness in his neck. He wasn't needed, either, as the D'Backs rolled to a 4-1 victory in San Francisco. Putz told reporters that he merely slept wrong and should be ready on Friday night.

J.J. Putz pitched a perfect ninth with a three-run lead to earn his 10th save Saturday against the Brewers. Putz gave up deep flies to both Norichika Aoki and Ryan Braun in the inning, but he did retire all three batters he faced. His ERA dropped from 7.20 to 6.75.

J.J. Putz took his third blown save and loss after giving up two runs in the ninth against the Dodgers on Tuesday. Putz's velocity has been better of late, so he'll probably survive this one. It's been an ugly year for him so far, but he did enter the night with a 16/1 K/BB ratio in 14 innings. If the Diamondbacks do decide to make a switch, it'd be to David Hernandez.

J.J. Putz survived a rocky ninth inning on Thursday, giving up three singles to the first three hitters faced before closing out the game on a strikeout and a double play. Putz picked up his seventh save in the process. He continues to close despite owning a 7.50 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. Opponents are batting .352 against him.

Called on in a non-save situation in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals, J.J. Putz allowed four runs on five hits in 2/3 of an inning. Not what Putz needed in his first appearance in five days. Putz is an acceptable 6-for-8 in save opportunities, and has yet to issue a walk in 10 innings, but is now the owner of a 9.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Putz is not yet on the verge of losing his job, but owners would be wise to at least monitor setup man David Hernandez.

J.J. Putz recorded his fifth save of the season in Sunday's win over the Braves. Putz gave up a solo homer with one out to Juan Francisco, but quickly shut the door on Jack Wilson and Jason Heyward. Putz is now 5-for-6 on save chances this season and his 5.40 ERA is really just a product of one bad outing in Colorado.

J.J. Putz came on in the 11th inning Tuesday to shut down the Padres, earning his third save in as many chances. Putz gave up a leadoff single and then retired the side on a fly out, strikeout, and ground out. Arizona's closer has rebounded nicely since a minor hiccup to start the season.

J.J. Putz shut down the Giants in order on Saturday picking up his second save of the young season. Putz has always been one of the most dominating closers in the league and as long as he's healthy he should be exactly the same in 2012.

J.J. Putz recorded his first save of the season Friday night against the Giants. It wasn't necessarily his finest work as he allowed a Pablo Sandoval RBI double cutting the lead to one before he escaped danger. Putz has always been a top tier closer when he's healthy, and 2012 should be no different.

J.J. Putz recorded his 41st save of the season Sunday by striking out the only batter he faced. Joe Saunders fell just shy of a complete game, as he put two runners on with a four-run lead before giving way to Putz, who disposed of Nick Hundley on four pitches. Putz has allowed just two runs over 18 1/3 innings while nailing down all 20 of his save chances since the All-Star break.
