Wright (shoulder) said it was "worthless" to guess when he might be ready to take part in any games again, The New York Post reports. "I think this is something that just needs to be corrected with an aggressive, probably time-consuming shoulder rehab and that is why I want to start concentrating on that before I do a lot of baseball stuff," Wright said Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
It's becoming increasingly clear that Jose Reyes will be the Mets' third baseman on Opening Day, but it's also becoming clear that the team can't really count on Wright to be in the lineup at all during the 2017 season. The 34-year-old hasn't given up on the idea of resuming his career and has four years remaining on his contract, but from a fantasy perspective there's little reason to use a roster spot on Wright.
