Whether and when Schierholtz gets called up to the major league roster could depend on the health of Nate McLouth, the Washington Post reports. McLouth is currently on the DL and getting his shoulder checked out, which leaves the Nationals' bench a little short on left-handed hitting options. Should the club determine that McLouth won't be able to help them down the stretch expect him to be shifted to the 60-day DL, which would open a spot on the 40-man roster for Schierholtz.
