Weaver (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Thursday, Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After clearing a simulated game Friday, Weaver is ready for the next step in his rehab program. No word has come forth as to how long he'll remain on his rehab assignment, although now that's missed about a month of action, it's likely that he'll need at least a couple starts with the Chihuahuas.
