Vocoedp signed with the Athletics on Friday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. Viciedo spent spring training with the Blue Jays but opted out of his contract when he failed to make the Opening Day roster. The 26-year-old appeared in 145 games for the White Sox last season, hitting .231 with 21 home runs, 58 RBI and 122 strikeouts. Viciedo will initially report to Triple-A Nashville.
