Venable posted a paltry .462 OPS this spring, and was beaten out for a roster spot by Cedric Hunter. Venable said earlier in the week he would be willing to remain with the Phillies even if he did not break camp with the big club, so his season will likely begin with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
