Uribe was designated for assignment in order to make room for Andrew Miller on the 25-man roster and Brandon Guyer on the 40-man roster. Uribe was having a poor season offensively, hitting just .206/.259/.332 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 73 games and it remains to be seen whether he sees significant time with any other big league clubs this season.
