Tigers optioned RHP Jose Ortega to Triple-A Toledo. The move was made to clear a spot on the roster for Jose Alvarez who will be recalled on Sunday to start in place of Anibal Sanchez. Ortega posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 10/6 K/BB ratio in 11 2/3 innings with the Tigers. He'll be back with the club at some point during the season.
