The Reds contacted Viciedo after he was released by the White Sox but seem unlikely to sign him, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The Reds are content to cast their lot with Marlon Byrd in left field, and given that both he and Viciedo are right-handed hitters, adding Viciedo wouldn't create a platoon. "He wants more playing time than we can give him," GM Walt Jocketty said. "He wants to start or at least platoon."
